TOTTENHAM WEIGH UP 3 MIDFIELDERS TO REPLACE HOJBJERG | WHARTON VS HACKNEY VS GALLAGHER

Ah morning morning morning everybody how you doing welcome back to the Spurs talk show I am Sean but the Bugsy Malone is just down here it’s a very very cold Thursday morning not sure if you can see the steam but it’s there I hope you’re all happy and healthy doing the things you

Know by now even if you have can you double check you still are # YouTube Shenanigans hit the notification Bell and drop a comment let me know your thoughts on today’s topics and it’s well it’s not so much Transfer News views and clues because all of the names I’m going

To drop to you today have been linked over the last two or three days and we’ve spoken about them on the live streams we’ve been doing but we’re going to kind of go through the thought processes I guess of of what we’re looking to do now in the Midfield just

Before we get to that the updates on everything that’s happened in the last couple of days and are the conclusions to those stories near well yes they are te o Vera has obviously signed held up the shirt he’s now been training he trained this morning or is training this

Morning with the first team squad and I think he trained yesterday as well so that’s good he’s part of the squad you can check out on the social media uh Tottenham Spurs official website you can see some videos of him you know engaging with the squad in training an introductory kind

Of welcome speech from an POA cogo all very nice so that’s done and here will be available for the squad for Sunday Ru drasin has taken his medical yesterday the final part of it is this morning and all being well that will be announced in

The coming hours and he too will also be able to be squeezed into to the Sunday Squad registration that happens this afternoon in other news Jed Spence has gone the other way he has also taken his uh his fitness test his medical and all those things over in Genoa Chris

Stellini Christian stellini has some commentary on Jed Spence saying that he’s a quiet guy uh with lots of room for improvement but has some explosive speed and you know what will be a good move for him and a chance for him to show what he is all about so look me

Personally I’m not entirely sure we’ll ever see Jed Spence play in a Tottenham shirt again I just don’t think it’s worked out and from what I’ve heard Henry Wright was telling me that he’s seen some people that are itk saying that within the club Daniel Levy has

Held up his hands and kind of acknowledged that that was one of his um forced moves I guess that that hasn’t worked out and that you know as I’ve been saying over the last few days I think you hope but that is the last time the last signing where we haven’t

Paid too much attention to the character of the player I’m not calling the character of the player out look Daniel far did do that uh he came out and said when the when the loan was cancelled that the guy’s personality or professionalism is is questionable and

You know look for what it’s worth I don’t think farker should have done that I think that it’s not his baby to call ugly his tottenham’s asset and in saying those sorts of words you kind of um put a sort of black mark or a blemish against the players

And you know that shouldn’t have happened but it has happened and it kind of supports the narrative that a lot of people have been saying since he joined Totten that there is something going on there with the guy’s uh willingness to participate you know in good faith

Hopefully janoah will uh will be the right move for him and hopefully he’ll get to demonstrate his skill sets and and and kick on with his career and hopefully grow up a little bit if that’s not too condescending a um a choice of of words to use anyway we’ll move on

From him and obviously the story now presuming that drasin is going to be having his shirt held held up today the story now is in terms of transfer news is what do we do next and according to all of the itks we are now looking at a midfielder some people are saying Connor

Gallagher is still tottenham’s number one choice but there’s a lot of young players that have been not the Connor Gallagher’s old I think he’s only 23 but there’s a lot of young players three specifically that Tottenham have been linked with over the last uh sort of 72 hours maybe the last

Week um Adam Warton at Blackburn Rovers Dan Neil at Middlesboro and Hayden Hackney at sorry Hayden Hackney at middleb and Dan Neil at Sunderland uh all three of them defensive midfielders or Central midfielders and most of them two of the three of them as far as I can tell are

Kind of thought of as being utility players that can play in a number of different positions so I will put the uh I’m not going to talk about Dan Neil cuz I haven’t done enough Research into him but I have looked at Hayden Hackley and I have looked at Adam

Warton and I will put the stats up just briefly to show you guys you know what we’re looking at here I’d love to be able to show you some some video clips but of course I can’t um but in terms of FB refs the stats I want you to kind

Of bake into this that when you’re going down to the championship level which is what we’re doing here then FB refs expands the stats out to compare them to the next 14 most similar competitions so these stats are a little bit deceiving in as much as whilst these

They might see a lot of green bars here and you should do hi John you might you might see a lot of green bars here and you see that these players are in the top sort of 10 percentile for everything that they do morning in the areas that

We would want them to be good at they’re being compar compared to a different standard than the usual Premier League uh players that we would look at or the sort of Bundesliga players Etc so bear that in mind but you can see for me the difference between the two in Adam

Warton and Hayden Hackney both of them are look incredibly impressive amongst their level at the things that you want from a midfielder passing on the ball dribbling tackling generally I would say that Adam Warton is far more defensive in terms of his his skill set is more

Around recovery so he’d be more of a six a natural six and then get the ball and distribute it Hayden Hackney who is two years older than Adam Warton Adam warton’s 19 I believe and and Hayden Hackney is 21 Hackney looks more like a creative player someone who gets on the ball and

Drives the ball forward he’s very comfortable in close proximity when the ball is at his feet he can kind of ride challenges and get himself out of trouble and kind of bounce off of players even though he’s I think he’s 5′ 10 he looks like a a prop you know a man

He looks strong and steady and can you know handle the physicality of the championship which is important and I think the same goes for Adam Warton both of them seem like you know for their age they’re very mature in handling the the physicality of the championship and if

You can handle the physicality of the championship then you know I think that the the progression up to the Premier League should be for that particular kind of metric should be fairly seamless the championship is sort of like you know lower league football is generally known

As being more physical and as you go up you kind of get a little bit less of that a little bit more protection from referees and then it comes down to more technicality and for me Hayden hatney comes across a little bit more technical um but I think they’re different types

Of players and it depends really on what Tottenham are looking for if you’re going for a Conor gallager and obviously we’ve seen Conor Gallagher as just using him as the kind of The Benchmark the litmus test of a player that we’re looking for he we’ve seen him at Crystal

Palace be able to take on the kind of creative role playing that I wouldn’t say a 10 role but kind of the creative eight sort of like what Hayden Hackney does and and pop up with some goals and we’ve also seen him being asked to play as a as a sort of second

Eight in a double pivot as the right eight in a kind of Midfield three and for Chelsea can kind of get the ball and go about being tenacious and and uh Relentless in the pursuit of of getting the ball back with high energy levels and so I think that Adam Warton

Probably represents that in a younger cheaper version now in terms of in terms of uh valuations obviously we know that Connor Gallagher we’ve seen it and done it he he has done it in the Premier League and like a lot of people that I speak to in on in this community you

Know in the in the in the chat in the comments underneath the videos a lot of people are on board with it a lot of people aren’t they think that he’s a bit of a sideways passer and they don’t really see the the correct valuation or see the value for money at

A 50 million pound price tag now for me look i’ I’ve remain consistent I think if Tottenham want to go in that direction it makes a lot of sense um what the one area that would frustrate me a little bit is that we will be handing over 50 million pound to

Chelsea which will allow them to continue their rebuild continue to kind of paper over their own cracks now I think that they’ve just about to sell is it Marson um into Germany and I I didn’t realize this I’m not I might be speaking completely incorrectly here but I think he might have come

Through the Homegrown system as well and so that any any um value that they get out of that whether it’s a loan fee initially or whether it’s a permanent transfer will also help their ffp but not to the extent necessary for them to go out and get a new goalkeeper if

That’s what they’re looking for or a new Striker but the sort of money that Conor Galla could command will absolutely help them and I think it is a consideration as I was saying on yesterday’s live stream if Tottenham are looking for a midfielder that’s happens to be

Homegrown you know we have to factor in whether you want someone that’s here for the here and now that’s ready to come in and impact and and and influence this season and next season uh directly and if so then I’m not sure that Adam Warton and Hayden Hackney are the kind of where

We should be going I think it’s important that we do always keep one eye on the present and one eye on the future and have you we sprinkle in amongst the the Here and Now players that can come in and and do well maybe go back out on

Loan and continue their development to the clubs where they’ve started their their careers uh with a plum but if that is the model where we’re just going to look for the future I’m not sure if Hackney or Warton or Dan Neil or any of these guys that we’re looking at

Are are going to come in and really disrupt the the first team and improve the first team immediately now if we were to go down that path does that mean that we’re going to look to try and move on an Oly skip or does ole skip maintain

His place in the squad because of his homegrown status himself how much money would you actually get for an Ole skip some people I was talking to last night you know Dave and Johnny they were saying maybe 10 million pound well look Hayden Hackney’s not he going to cost

More than 10 million pound Adam Warton is going to cost more than 10 million pound not massively more but enough to make a dent so you have to make a a sort of careful consideration around what it is that you think our budgets are and what we’re going to be doing with that

And what we what we have left to really do and you know we have to keep one eye on the fact that for me absent some miraculously brilliant phenomenal return to form of te o Vera then this this deal that we have with the option for me will

Remain just a short-term loan I I’d be surprised if Tottenham at the moment were thinking about the long term with him it’s more of a needs must situation of course if he comes in and absolutely slams it out of the park or smashes it out of the park then we’ve got a great

You know a great option of 15 million but I would think that Tottenham are still going to look for in the summer a proper out andout number nine we’ve spoken about this ad norim a Santiago gimenez you know someone like him is probably still going to cost 6570 if you

Were to go more local and look for a homegrown in the shape of form of Ivan Tony or an OE Watkins or Dominic salanki any of those type of guys then I think you’re talking more money because of the Homegrown plus the the the multiplier effect of the fact that you’re talking

About a striker who is generally is in high demand and short supply so you need to keep budget back for whichever eventuality that that looks like therefore can you do that and also command and justify paying 50 40 whatever it is for Conor Gallagher and also remember that you’re helping con

You’re helping Chelsea who will become a threat I know they’re going through their own turmoil for the last 18 months but they will become a threat eventually they will figure this out unless ffp catches up with them to the point where they have to sell off some of their

Assets they’re figuring it out with a very rough and rocky road but they have a willingness to to spend their way out of trouble to a degree to a large degree in fact so do we really want to help them out well I’m not so I’m not so sure

That it’s the best course or the best usage of the money I I’m still very much on board it if Tottenham want to go down the Conor gallaga path I think the player is fantastic I think he would really suit us and I think he can help

Us right now giovan Lelo is out of action for some people say it’s just a couple of weeks other people say it’s more like two or three months and he’s hurt you know he’s got a serious injury um Pier Moy beer we spoken about this ad

Nauseum as well you know does he look like he’s disinterested I think so and it’s a shame because until now one of the things that you can always um rely upon with within Hy Beer’s character is his professionalism and his willingness to sort of never let down his own standards because he’s

Upset with game time or or um treatment or whatever else but in the last couple of games it’s looked to me like he’s you know not prepared to kind of go 100% because he’s doesn’t want to get injured or he doesn’t care about the project because he thinks that he’s not you know

He shouldn’t be playing second fiddle to Nolly skip or to anybody else you know these are the kind of micro problems that you know Andrew is going to have to face when and if we continue to develop our Squad and improve the overall standard is how do you keep and maintain

Players Happy who expect to be playing 100% of the minutes that they’re fit for um when they’ve got other people that expect the same you know in places like Manchester City and Liverpool and proba Chelsea of old you know I think managers can justify and I think players will

Tolerate a little bit more of a rotation because there’s a high likelihood that they’ll still be lifting trophies at the end of the season at Tottenham you we don’t have the historical trophy success in recent years to be able to say to good players come in and be a bit part

Rotation exercise so it’s a difficult sort of juggling act but it’s something we have to do now does Connor Gallagher is Connor Gallagher going to be okay with it well look we’ve seen recently all it takes is a phone call from Big an to be able to convince very good players

To want to come to Tottenham and I think that the same thing Could Happen even though his Chelsea through and through I think that Tottenham could you know very likely convince him to come to to come to to play in North London if he has a

Conversation of big an and and an you know his his version of himself and and also and Conor his tottenham’s version or Angie’s version of what we’re trying to do here I think you could turn his head but is it the right thing to do when you’re going to spend a lot of

Money and again I go back to you know this this Narrative of helping Chelsea become better um maybe there’s other people that we can go to without having to go to that Championship level and always think about one for the future maybe it’s better to go to CH to Crystal

Palace and see if you can you know find out what the right valuation is for an e essay I think he’s just as utility he’s just as versatile in fact I think he probably covers more gaps in terms of with lo celo you know absence possibly

Coming do you do you find someone who can come in and play in the 10 and mix it up with Madison he can also definitely play as an eight a left-sided eight and he can definitely play on the left wing should we need to and I think

The left wing is a problem area that we you know will have to look again at in the summer if teimo Vera’s loan move is just a loan with perisic seemingly played his last game with Manel Solomon being an asset that we’ll have to figure out whether we want to maintain him or

What we would like to cash in on him um and Brian Hill as well with his future you know uncertain Tottenham do have the likely scenario it’s entirely plausible that we could have you know liquidated three or four different options on the left side in the summer

And so we’ll need to go and get someone in that can that can play out there and definitely EA is one of those guys it’s going to cost you a lot of money to get him probably 65 70 million pound but in doing that I think you have a you know

Potentially potentially a worldclass player in the future who immediately lifts our team immediately brings in versatility and energy and talent and technique and I think he would be fantastic to to kind of uh to mix it in there and I think you could definitely convince him and in giving Crystal

Palace the money you’re not quite as worried about them going out and improving to the point where they’re a threat to what we’re trying to achieve in the future so for me there’s that option as well now but does Tottenham have enough money will Tottenham have

The will Daniel Levy have the uh the willingness to go and get someone like him and then also go and get someone like a Santiago gimenez in the in the summer doubtful that’s going to probably cost you about 50 million pound you know over two players and I think Tottenham

Should be able to justify it a lot of the other teams around us can and I think with regards ffp that will probably bring us closer to the to the line but I still think that Tottenham have got enough wiggle room to get that done so it’s an interesting one but

Probably not things we’re going to talk about or get done in January if you do go and do something like that if that is the plan maybe there’s conversations about that for the summer then can you get through January and the rest of this this season without an A and without a

Santiago gimnez and still find enough justification to do something in this January and I think you possibly can I think if you were to go and get an e who is more creative then maybe Tottenham might look at the Adam Warton solution who is a little bit more as I say on the

From what I’ve seen of him and I could be wrong about this analysis but from what I’ve seen of him he looks like he’s more of the kind of the six the the the eight that plays more defensively the kind of the the grappler the guy who goes and

Wins the ball back now again his passing range is is excellent for his age and he’s got a very bright future he will be playing in the Premier League in the next you know 18 months in my opinion whether he goes to Tottenham or somewhere else remains to be

Seen now there’s lots of other kind of more defensive midfielders out there that are also young age we’ve got we speak about the guy arur verir who’s playing over in Royal ANP at the moment he’s only 18 years old so you could bring him over

Sign him now or sign him in the summer and I think if my math is correct could be wrong but I think you could then slot him into the youth team for three years even though he’d be getting first te minutes and by the time he turns 22 or

Outside of the the under 21 age he will technically qualify for homegrown similar to um what we’re doing with papar right now and uh and other players that have done the same for other clubs in London so it’s all very interesting guys there not like I said not a huge

Amount of news but I’d love to get your thoughts on whether or not if we are going to go again in the January window for a midfielder what sort of midfielder do you think we should go for should we be focusing on one for the future that

Could come in and just kind of replace an oi skips level like sit at the bottom of a six or seven strong list of midfielders or do you want us to go and spend you know a line share of the of the of the budget that will be available for now and next

Summer on a player like a con GX like an e like a an El well not so much an Elis but you know some some one of that kind of more mature but very costly end of the spectrum and not worry so much about the uh you know tomorrow we can deal with

That we do we we do have a a healthy amount of young players coming through don’t forget Alfie dine as well is not far away um from being ready for first team football at Tottenham he’s having a wonderful season so far from all accounts at Port Vale um plus of course

You’ve got Mikey Moore and Jamie Donley and those guys that are not too far away either so um for me personally as I said last night just to summarize the video I would like Tottenham to focus more on the here and now I’d be far more excited

I understand you’ve got to do a little bit of both but um for me if Tottenham could uh expedite the process of the conversations around trying to get someone in for the future oh sorry someone trying to get someone in for the summer even if it can’t be done now but

Like an as a like like a Conor Gallagher like a um a verir any you know someone that’s that’s got enough about them to be able to come in and really be meaningfully impactful over the next 6 months along with as well as the next six years then I think that’s the way

That I would like to see it but I’d like to like to know how you think about it guys uh let me know in the comments below like subscribe and comment it’s a long one today I do apologize 22 minutes what am I up to as always guys Bye-bye

  1. You talk a lot about this high line Spurs play Sean But I've not seen much evidence of it.
I went against villa and EVERTON and we play out of the back too much.
Also against EVERTON look how many times the ball went to the Goalkeeper 😮
    That's Angeball?

  2. I would take Gallagher now that’s the midfield sorted in my eyes doesn’t matter if Chelsea get the 50 mill from us because there get it off another club anyway. Conor in midfield complete for the next five years

  3. Would love Gallagher, definitely an upgrade to Hojbjerg and Skipp, but can't see it happening, Eze is the one for me, but again, that would be very hard to get done….Hackney looks good and one for the future, wouldn't mind going in for Jobe at Sunderland, or even nicking Ben Diaz , who's on loan at Sheffield Utd at the mo, I think he'd be a great target man in Ange's system, home grown and has a bit about him….

  4. It’s interesting that players want to stay because their happy with everything that’s happening at spurs it’s the Ange affect

  5. Biss GLC Maddison Bentancur all around 27. Think it’s fine to go a bit younger as long as we’re comfortable they are capable now or by the summer if it’s a loan back.

  6. Big up mate, nearly 22K Subscribers now, amazing 💪🏼 Personally from what I have seen, I don't think Hackney or Wharton are better than Alfie Devine!! Really think Alfie will be in our first team squad this season, and also Mikey too, would love them both to progress and we should only bring in youth that are better than what we already have in those positions!COYS

  7. For me, by the end of the summer window, I would like to see all three of Hojbjerg, Lo Celso and Skipp sold, and replaced with 2-3 younger homegrown players.

I would go for Conor Gallagher, and then one or two of Wharton, Hackney, Alex Scott, Archie Gray etc. We need more English players in the squad

  8. If ANY player isn't enthusiastic to join Spurs, Ange is NOT interested in trying to convince them to do so. Give Gallagher a big miss and don't talk him up, Ange will find a good value, under rated player that is enthusiastic to play his heart out for the opportunity presented.

  9. Regardless of Gallagher we shld DEFINITELY get Wharton for 10-15m and loan him back to B'burn till end of season.

I see a young left footed Gerard. Its not that hes more defensive. Hes only 19 and its his current role. U can see him burst forward but he comes deep to get the ball. He is an excellent DLP on defend but wld be equally as useful as a #8 in a BTB role…hes just 19 and hasnt been used this way…

  10. With Bissouma , Bentancur and Skipp don't need a rotation for MD , want one for Sarr , an engine that can run all day ? All another options in creative and goal scoring should Madders be out or overplayed in going for Glory runs home grown talent will become vital as the squad matures ?

  11. Ange will never go for a so-called out and out number 9 like Haaland or Toney. He likes his forwards versatile like Son, Watkins, Kyogo, Werner, guys like these. Fans just don’t get it.
