Im pretty sure how the whole thing went is that Petey went he wasnât willing to sign during the season and wanted to see how the team does. The Canucks standpoint wasnât that they didnât want to sign him, but they werenât sure if he was a 100 point player which he had done only once, or the 70 point guy he was the two year before. Unless Iâm completely misremembering, this is a joke Adam made when it happened that he has actually started to believe was what happened.

I'm a Canuck fan, and I accepted that Pety's gonna get paid. What's funny is that everything they said about Pety applied to Nylander, but they sang a different tune for months before the contract signing. For example, they kept saying how Nylander should take a hometown discount and how he should take Tkachuk or Aho or Gaudreau or Meier money, and that Nylander is not better than those two guys. Now the panel's like oh Pety's comparable to MacKinnon money and such….lol
Petterson is no mcdavid or mackinnon.
The whole thing was fairly simple, Canucks wanted to signed him during off-season but Petey wanted to play out the season and see where the team is at.
My hope is he signs a reasonable contract..just to watch the heads of these leaf fans explode XD

As much as Petey wants to get paid the guy also really wants to win. I remember the 2011 team took many hometown discounts for the betterment of the team. Many Canuck players in the past have taken hometown discounts and i wouldn't be surprised if Petey does too if that means winning a Stanley Cup.
Now that the Canucks are good the saltiness in Leafs fans is so funny to watch. Their fragile fandoms crumbling year after year.

I love listening to you guys but most of your takes on the Canucks are just straight bad. This whole thing about the Canucks management saying they dont want him is straight blown out of proportion and the whole conversation here is basically based off of that. Ditto your take on JT Miller. He was a long proven PPG guy with defensive lapses (not unlike Horvat) but has been much more consistent than Horvat ever was. Please, i beg you, just check in with your (former) Game Over Vancouver staff and im sure theyll at least set you in the right direction as these conversations really take away from your product.
