The timeline that makes the most sense is the explanation that Gauthier wanted to play in the NHL this year but Briere said he wanted him to play another year in college and it pissed him off
Kevin also refused to go to the team that drafted him.
Gauthier shouldn't be getting hate. He didn’t want to live/play in Philadelphia, people should be supportive of him having control over his life.

Flying over to Sweden to meet up with the kid when he’s focusing on the world champions? I feel he’s more prioritized to help his USA team win the championship,which he did. Flyers Management started all these drama by spilling the beans and throwing him under the bus after the trade.
Death threats are stupid, but I’m all for saying “f that guy”. Hayes and Gauthier can both kick rocks. I am looking forward to Gauthier becoming the next generations Crosby. Another top end forward 1st rounder pissed away. Here’s to hoping Drysdale pans out.

I think it's really shitty (and spineless) that Gauthier refused to talk to Briere and Jonesy, even after they flew out to Sweden to do so. He's made himself out to be a prima donna and given that and what other reporting I've seen in the past day we're well rid of him, we don't need that sort of toxic selfish nonsense in the locker room as the rebuild goes on.

Never have been a fan of Kevin Hayes' overpaid, overrated, and soft game. I'll yell "Rangers reject" every time he touches the puck but he doesn't deserve death threats or tasteless comments about his late brother.
Flyers got a very nice return for trading away a top project. Doesn't matter if Hayes influenced Gauthier or not.
Shannon Hayes is getting hate last season Hayes & Gauthier played Golf together who knows what they talked about . As a Flyers fan even if Hayes told not to play here so what for what reason he didn't want to be here anymore good bye . Gauthier is said to have wanted to go pro this season the Flyers are said to have told him he should play another in college plus at the time they was still in cap hell . As a Philadelphia fan in all sports my home teams i want the teams to go out play hard and by the rules. What i can't stand there are players i don't like in sports but i don't want to see them hurt or dead or even their family members if you wish that you shouldn't follow sports .

Something must have happened for Gauthier to be so done with the Flyers that he wouldn't talk to them.
Hayes may have said something, but at the end of the day, Its completely on Gauthier! If someone can sway your belief into not wanting to play for a team or organization it tells me you are very soft! As for Ghosting a team like he did. Its completely wrong. There's been plenty of highly talented kids in lesser leagues that were bust's in the NHL. I do think he will be very good. But as a Flyer fan i hope he gets very special treatment every time he steps on the ice in Philadelphia, by the fanbase, and the team. No cheap shots but definitely finish every check as hard as possible
From some reports out there it's obvious that the kid thinks he should be in the show, but the flyers for some financial reasons weren't going to bring him up this year.
So I get it, they probably took a couple million dollars out of his pocket, and he said you know what fine I'm not playing for you guys at all
I just think it's a d move to act like a baby fold your arms and say I'm not talking.

EVERYONE should agree on this…Making a rude fan comment or angry outburst is fine "youre a bum" "f yourself" whatever, if you need that outlet thats fine, but NO ONE should tell anyone to kill themselves, that theywill be killed, or make comments about family that has passed. Thats out of bounds and dishonorable behavior. Shoresy would disapprove and say "figgur it out".
The Hayes issue was brought forth by Anthony San Filippo. Ant is the most plugged in well-connected journalist covering the flyers by a wide margin and his credibility when it comes to Flyers news is rock solid. He doesnt just throw mud and talk out his ass. Hes written numerous deep dive stories over many years delving into the Flyers locker room and front office issues.
If he is saying it, it is not for no reason and it certainly is not made up. He brought forth the issue on the Snow The Goalie Podcast, which is a podcast that is not run by the franchise but is officially partnered with the Flyers. Whoever his sources are in the team, may very well be talking out their ass to Ant, but he is a reputable enough journalist that he would not expose smoke to the fanbase if there wasnt any fire.
As a flyers fan I respect the decision. He's a kid, you want to be close to home or where you're comfortable? cool. Glad the front office moved forward. No worries on my end whether or not Hayes influenced him. Hayes is entitled to his opinion on philly as well. Whatever. Dust-off and move on. Goodluck to Hayes/Cutter and go flyers.
Friedman had a bit where he must've repeated "It's not Torts!" at least 4 times, but then mentioned that things fell apart last year when Gauthier could have signed his ELC & for several reasons the team didn't do it. I could see that triggering a negative response from him. He likely decided to go the Adam Fox route and opt not to sign with the Flyers & choose his team at the end of his college career. Fox got traded, which worked for him. Gauthier may be the same and happier to be in Anaheim instead.

Tonight I saw 2 videos one either Gauthier and the other with Tortarela stating Hayes had no part in the situation

Case in point from how they go from loving their players on their sports teams, then they lose in any situation and their fans 360 switch to threaten going for their own city’s players heads. If you’ve followed Bryce Harper or Trea Turner’s tenure on the Phillies, has been the story of their entire time there.
