It's definitely a mental thing that affects their playing in the third which always leads to the breakdown's they need to focus and be more confident with just playing the game and not overthink on giving up chances especially towards the end of the game. I think if you played either Sogaard or Korpisalo both goalies would have the same result from a team like the Avalanche. I find their PP and their PK is slowly starting to get better but even strength hockey the defence is just trash and the downfall of this team as well as the goaltending.
