Keefe was very honest here. He's obviously not afraid to tell the players that aren't playing well that they aren't playing well.
The top guys didn't take any hometown discount. They can't sign top D. The Boston Bruins top guys took less money in order to sign better players, look at their record guys like Marchant making just under 7 million dollars.

Then he’s shooting pucks over the glass in panic mode. NOBODY IS SCARED OF MITCH MARNER. Roll that line from last night against Florida in the playoffs and see how that goes. Your defensive structure is shyte. Watch the videos, look at what’s going on in the defensive zone during these inevitable collapses, and address it. And by what metric are you one of the best defensive teams over the last ten games? That’s just not possible, you are getting destroyed 4-4-2 over last ten, Oilers are 10-0-0, Panthers 8-1-1, Kraks 8-2-0, Aves 8-2-0, Canucks 7-2-1. How are you defending better than these teams? You have to keep the puck out of your own net and skate away with the W in order to claim you are one of the best defensive teams in the league.
