If he was having a bad game and this was his 4th or 5th mistake I would understand. It was 1 bad pass and he redeemed himself with a goal only to still get shafted. Fuck Ruff.

But I’ll say it, he’s not wrong. After we tied it, momentum swung the other way. I don’t see Holtz as the player to put out to counter that. He’s just not the one that’s gonna make the big defensive play, clear the zone, spring a player, or go on the oddman rush. I know a lot of people in this sub are very invested in Holtz, but I just don’t think playing him in this situation was the secret key to winning this game.

This is why ruff is and always was a bad coach . People will point at his record but he always never budged on his stupidity. Holtz may have made a mistake but he redeemed the mistake by tying the game and was pushing the offense so you sit him . Also how many other players made mistakes and you don’t bench them vets and rookies alike

The play wasn’t even that egregious. It was a play along the wall where he didn’t even have many options because our structure isn’t any good. Toffoli has at least a turnover a game as bad as that with zero speed to recover.

I just don’t get it man. Other players like Luke Jack Bastian Smith and a few others always make stupid mistakes and yet there’s no issues with ruff. Why is holtz always the one singled out? It makes no sense.

Novo is a good dude. But Novo is generally not afraid to ask the cunty undermining questions to Lindy and he wants the negative reaction from him too. He’s doing his job by asking every time. But I’m not offended that Lindy gets mad at him, that’s just how it is.
I definitely disagree that Holtz shouldn’t be playing. Lindy is dead wrong with how he’s been played over this past stretch.
It’s also Holtz who sometimes absolutely refuses to acknowledge how Lindy wants him to play. Holtz will have the puck on his stick and do nothing with it when ppl are bearing down on him, or he puts it in the wrong place randomly. Read and make the small play, be trustable.
That said. Lindy is being completely unfair how he’s on the guy. He’s not learning by being held ultra accountable for everything. It’s clearly not working. And he’s being held more liable for everything than other guys.

Good thing Novo is going to be around a lot longer than Ruff. I might be able to excuse the arrogance if he weren’t so fucking incompetent. His system is ass and he plays favorites more than almost any coach I’ve seen. He never speaks complimentarily about Holtz even though he has upped his game so much this season, he doesn’t deserve to get pulled after making one mistake, plus our forward depth was already depleted. Fitz needs to see this guy cannot be our future if we are to build a sustainable winning culture.

I would say I’m with most people in this sub in thinking Holtz has had his development screwed this season and last. Not just by Lindy but he was one part for sure.
I have been dreaming back to last season as one does during a regression. I really think Lindy’s coaching has been really effected by the injuries more than the obvious. Yes at first glance missing players who put up big numbers kills. However last year if you remember, players like Siegs would have back to back rough games and Lindy would give them a game off/scratch and they come back looking great. A break, accountability check and some hunger to get back on the ice is a great tool for the player and coach and it’s missing from Lindy’s toolbox and it shows.

This reminds me of a post game question about 2 years ago where a reporter asked Lindy why did Bratt not get more playing time as the game went on and Lindy wasn’t aware of Bratts total playing time. And at that time I think Jack was hurt and Bratt was our leading scorer or something – insane how unaware Lindy can be

in general i like novo, but it’s funny how much he panders to the loud majority crowd and asks the simple questions and is worshipped for it . i think some of the treatment is unfair to an extent, but it’s not this gigantic head scratcher or an arbitrary attack on him it’s made out to be, the dude makes mistakes that you have to be held accountable for especially when you’re that young; everyone can rag on about the 5v5 points all they want but 5v5 points shouldn’t be a free ticket to the top 6 or an excuse to make boneheaded moves. it’s the timing and relentlessness of these punishments etc etc. that’s an issue. i think it’s about time to move on from lindy but it’s not because of this overblown drama nor is the position of the team solely on his head, and i agree he’s losing the room and a change is needed atp
