The Detroit Red Wings have done it again, they played hard and kept it close with another very good hockey team, this time overcoming a team that has been their kryptonite — the Florida Panthers. The doesn’t just extend their point streak to 7 games, it snaps a 10 game losing streak to the Panthers. It couldn’t have happened without Alex Lyon, who was once again phenomenal in net, posting a .941sv% in this one. But also, the 3rd line of Copp, Rasmussen and Fischer were absolutley dominant, leading to both regulation goals for Detroit. Then, the captain Dylan Larkin finishes it in OT. Detroit now sits 3rd in the Atlantic with 51 points. #lgrw

If you watched hockey the last 30 years, you'd know players go through funks. They can be abysmal like with Copp. But I knew he'd start getting points again. Most players require more patience than the average fan has. But in reality, he's a 15 maybe 20 goal player at his ceiling & more here for shutdown purposes. He can still get 15 this year & better to get hotter in the last half of the season heading to the POST SEASON woo.

Proud to say I did call for Lyon to get his shot about 2 months ago.
If the Copp line continues to play well down the stretch, it could be the difference between playoffs or golf.

I remeber like a month or 2 ago everyone was wondering if it was goaltending that was lacking or was it the defense or both. It was clearly both. But the defense has stepped up and with good goaltending this team has found there groove. Still seeing some defensive breakdowns but there satisfactory. Alex lyon is a stud! Perron is gonna be haunted in his dreams by that missed open net in 1st. That pissed me off. But he made up for it by keeping that puck in the zone in ot and letting larks snipe one on bob
Rasmussen looked so good this game. Huge one for him, and that bottom 6 line with him, Copp and Fischer is so solid, great on forecheck, backcheck, seems to cause teams a lot of problems! Love to see it

Wings are playing as a team. They have more confidence in their goaltending which makes it easier to play. At the end of the game you see the whole team on the ice congratulating themselves. We have 4 lines that make contributions even with a major player out. If you notice, every player is moving their feet.
