Chychrun likely to be dealt, dislikes Ottawa
Per the streets, It seems the 'hometown novelty' has mostly worn off for Jakob Chychrun and his camp in Ottawa. Hearing his interest in being a Sen long-term has diminished greatly.
Very unlikely that he extends, far more likely that he's dealt before becoming a UFA #GoSensGo pic.twitter.com/1c17QuQESU

LMAO what a clown. With that being said I own his jersey and would love to have him back, but only if the price is right
He is Florida bound. 100%
Chych can stay the eff away from this team. I wasn’t privy to being in the room, so the players might feel otherwise, but I’d wager having him back wouldn’t be good for the room. For the longest time, this team has needed players who were not only good NHL calibre talent, but players with the desire to be here and help grow the culture. Chych bailed for money and the prospects of personal professional success – which is absolutely his right and isn’t unreasonable by any stretch of the imagination. But uh, kick rocks bro, you bailed on us and while he passes the talent test, he failed the loyalty test. That’s like taking an ex-partner back after they wanted a divorce.
We don’t need the sub to turn into /r/ChychrunUpdates
If a team gives up another first for him, that’s foolish
He doesn’t seem to be happy anywhere. Unhappy here because of the rebuild and now he’s unhappy how he’s being used in Ottawa. What exactly does he want
He doesn’t dislike Ottawa the city. He dislikes the team being shit. But either way lol
Personally, if GMBA can find a good fit for him back here on the Yotes, I would welcome him back with open arms. I would applaud him at his re-debut, I have no ill feelings toward his departure. If he moves elsewhere and finds success, I would applaud that too. He is a great player and deserves to find the success he desires.
I’d take him back if the price was right and the core players unanimously gave their ok. He and Keller seem to be on good terms now, so I don’t see the point in holding a grudge if the guys in the room can get past it. I don’t blame him for taking the escape hatch when the Coyotes approached him about trades.
But Ottawa’s new leadership can’t afford the bad optics of giving him back to us at a reasonable price, so it won’t happen.
Relax guys. He’s not coming back. He doesn’t want to be part of a rebuild. He wants the Cup now. Yotes are playing well but won’t be a real Cup contender for years. Maybe by the time the new stadium is built.
