It's funny looking under his bio they list his midget and bantam leagues out of Calgary! Starting when he was 13 years old Lol! No ohl, no world international stuff.
He played under USHL 2 years then went to U Denver, NCAA, where the Avalanche picked him up undrafted his junior year.
he didn't stay in the AHL too long, 2 way contract his first two years for- became a one way contract his third season.

Doesn't look like much, but he's just hitting his prime, and the guys he learned under are getting older
These undrafted guys can come out of nowhere. Often takes them a bit longer to adjust to professional level hockey… But when they hit their stride, they can pop out of nowhere.
Maybe this was an unusual play for him, or he's playing with such elite athletes that he doesn't stand out.
Especially playing on a team with Nate McKinnon.
I like these undrafted guys, sometimes they leave as oddly as they come in to the league.
