  1. Adam “how many goals per game have the oilers scored over their 11 game win streak?”
    Steve, genuinely “52”

  2. We gunna talk about Ryan marrying his dead buddies widowed wife? That's pretty wild. Entertaining interview for sure.

  3. 'I think victor hedman is better at talking to the refs so he should be captain' … its really starting to dawn on me how much adam and steve just talk out of there ass. Somehow jesse blake has become the most knowledgable person on this podcast barring steves outdated leafs knowledge.

  4. PS it’s not just 8 days ,, since Dec 14 , the leafs are 6-8-2 that’s not a bad week that’s a really bad month , specially for a team who considers itself a true contender

  5. 2 goals or a 100 goals per game, doesn’t matter, Leafs will give the lead away anyway. The O and D zone of the Leafs are one big “welcome” doormat and Keefe is fine with it. That’s problematic (to express this kindly). Team = no team is also a huge issue.

  6. Okay, who could replace Keefe for real? Who’s an available coach that would fit this freaky franchise that is the Leafs?

  7. Is it not weird to nitpick what an individual says before or after the game when the big picture is how a TEAM has to play as one, take responsibility as one and it’s management as well?
individuals don’t win, don’t go to Playoffs
it’s a team and it’s results. Please enlighten me here đŸ€“

  8. Adam being blind. Saying this and that money comes off next year. Yes Brodie is leaving and the cap goes up but Matthews and Nylander are taking up an extra 6.5m next year. They will have 5 guys making $55m next year.

  9. Don’t understand how Adam doesn’t get that he’s guaranteed 11+ million for 8 years now.. that’s what Steve means

  10. I’m not sure about TJ Brodie but he might just need time off (I think his dad died last summer and his wife is chronically ill, not that that is the reason but he might just need a break).

  11. Overpay Matthews, Nylander and Marner…lose. Let's overpay Matthews, Nylander and soon to be Marner again and we'll win……LEAFS LOGIC!

  12. Man, the condescension coming from the middle this show is turning me off big time. I hope they do tear it down, get rid of all the core, fall out of the playoff picture and pick 7th every year. That's what I want for this team.

  13. A team like the Sens should hire TR to work with their prospects and be a hockey ambassador for the organization!

  14. I feel like Steve is especially concerned because the Leafs are not taking advantage of some GREAT choices that is now the core of the team. What are the odds of hitting on 4 out of 5 first round DP's and those guys pretty much hitting their max potentially (Between Reilly & AM with Gauthier @ 23rd the only miss)?

  15. Terry Ryan is an absolute beauty. He can admit his own shortcomings in hindsight, takes responsibility for his own bad decisions and tries to make things better going forward. Whenever I hear him speak about his experiences, it's uplifting.

  16. tampa signing stammer IS doing right by the team. he was a huge part of their 2 cups and sustained success for almost a decade. its almost the same thinking with pitsburg fans who would be devastated if crosby/gino/letang left

  17. On the Bruins talk Steve was doing briefly
Jamie McLennan said on the Flamesnation show that Bergeron has been hanging around a lot with the team and “skating almost daily”. Potentially coming out of retirement at the deadline for the stretch run?

  18. Personally, as a long time leafs fan, I've grown tired of this glass cannon mentality. All firepower, no defence, no armour is not going to win in the post-season. We have the firepower. We have some decent depth. We need defence. We need to be able to shut teams down and make it frustrating to gain the zone and pressure our net. Jones giving us a .930 sv% isn't a requirement if we play strong in our own end. Maybe I'm the only one, but every game it seems like the leafs struggle to gain the O zone, struggle to set up and maintain pressure in the O zone but other teams seem to just walk right in on our net. PP is struggling because we aren't dominating the offensive zone, instead we get our goals mostly off the rush and turnover the puck a lot when trying to generate rush opportunities.

  19. So I was building a deck for my house a while back. My budget was $835. I decided to start building the framing and supports for it instead of budgeting out for all the materials in advance. When I got done building the framing and supports for it I realized that I had almost no money left for the top of the deck. Luckily my local hardware store has a bargen lumber section with wood that isn't as nice or sturdy as the normal lumber. I got what I could afford from it and went to work finishing the deck build. Unfortunately I ran out of materials and I ended up having to leave some gaps in the deck. It still works as a functional deck though there are some small gaps in it. Luckily only a couple of the cheap bargain board have broken due to wear on the cheap lumber. It's still a deck though and the framing and supports are amazing. This is 100% and anecdote for the situation the leafs are in and as a non leaf fan it is pretty obvious how yall are in the situation that yall are in.

  20. All I want out of hockey broadcasts is some actual quality out of them. I'm beyond tired of 720p, and the half-rate 30fps footage that gets uploaded as highlights is just complete pain on the eyes

  21. Start of the year I figured the leafs would sneak into the playoffs and watching them this year I wouldn’t be shocked if they miss altogether

  22. Why aren't you guys focused on the REAL issue here… The Leafs can't outscore their mistakes. This was the same issue with the Oilers prior to this year. They were outscoring their mistakes and when they couldn't, they lost. A prime example? The playoffs. The Leafs team won't go anywhere until they figure out what Edmonton's coaching staff and players have finally realized: they can't win in the playoffs without sound defense. Now they play the right way. If they get behind they stick with the game plan and don't make high danger plays to try and open the game up. They stick with it and they almost always come back. 11 games in a row, 19 of 23.

  23. This is probably not directed towards the sdpn crew but do some leafs fans really think Tavares is going to take a substantial cut in pay to stay with the team if Steven Stamkos won't?
