In this edition of Locked on Capitals Dan talks about the Caps picking up a much needed two point in their shutout victory of the Anaheim Ducks. Darcy Kuemper was sharp in net and making it difficult to know exactly who the number one netminder for the Capitals is. The top line of Max Pacioretty, Dylan Strome and TJ Oshie was impressive once again as they were generating chances and putting pressure on the Ducks. It makes me wonder what the Caps will do when Alex Ovechkin returns. Tom Wilson scored the second goal of the game and that’s what put the dagger in the Ducks chances of a late game rally.

Kuemper was always going to start this game after Lindgren played both of a back to back just 2 days ago. Congratulations to him for his first shutout of the season and congrats to Ethan Bear for his first Caps goal. I just hope Carbery doesn't somehow think Kuemper should be the number 1 after this.
The tean is now 2-1 without Ovechkin. I know they've only scored 1 goal in the last 2 (empty netter doesn't count). That isn't going to win many games though. What does this indicate to you Dan? Is the little offence Ovevhkin is providing worth the terrible defence he provides?
How can you say "Kuzy has never lived up to expectations"? Do you forget he led the team in scoring in the Cup Run?

Was there at the game and made sure to cheer Kuemper on. I think he heard me. Lol. Lindgren was suited up for warm ups too. Think Carberry definitely had a contingency plan.
