Jake DeBrusk on Improved Play After Bruins vs Avalanche | Postgame Interview

200 feet probably was one of my better ones but I still kind of threw some burgers out there so um wasn’t perfect it’s hard to be perfect in this league obviously but understanding what matchups I was going up against for the last couple games I think probably

Started in St Louis um I just feel like my feet are in a good position right now and um that goes hand in hand with everything in my game um nice to get some production obviously in a win and uh try to build on it Jak have you

Gotten to a point where you don’t worry about the fact that there wasn’t the production you wanted early you’re just focused on the what’s in front of you well I got half a year to make it up so um it’s funny you know it’s one of those

Things where um you know obviously it wasn’t any it’s pretty frustrating to be honest at the beginning of the year and um I’ve been in positions like this before where I didn’t know if I could do it but I I know I can do it so that makes it almost honestly more

Frustrating just kind of waiting patiently but you try different things and um you understand it’s a long season I think the stretch after Christmas break Christmas break really helped me get away from the game for just even if it was a couple days and then uh came

Back kind of fresh and um just been trying to build off that but I know what I can do and um you know that’s probably me my worst so um it’s one of those things where hopefully I can just keep gaining gaining ground did you feel as a

Team this was one of your better shutdown efforts in the third there I thought so I thought they had a good push in the second and um you know obviously good teams will have that they’re top you know top team for a reason even got some guys out but I

Think a three and four too so we knew um we had a challenge ahead of us at the same time we understood that we just you know anything that they got we kind of uh didn’t manage a puck and anytime you don’t manage a puck against good teams

Um you know you ask for trouble so it’s one of those things where I thought that we really um shut it down the defenseman on first touches were really good tonight obviously with a fast for checking team uh that’s heavy um you need to be good there and um I think

That we did enough to win and you know that’s all it really matters you get a sense that with Pon maybe you sense him a little more jump in a step when he’s going against guys like I think all the top players do to be honest with you um you know it’s one

Of those things we never really know pass it before a game but um you know he’s he’s passed us so but um he was ready to play tonight obviously had a great game and uh you know it’s one of those things where he only needs one one

Grade a look and he can put it you know JB bar so um special talent obviously we’ve all seen it and um you know with the other things that he does away from uh the puck um has gotten way better this year I think this is probably the

Most I’ve ever or not most but I’ve seen him grow um overall in a leadership role uh just

BOSTON — Jake DeBrusk reflected on his effective performance in the Bruins’ victory over Colorado, attributing his success to his current form. “I just feel like my feet are in a good position right now, and that goes hand-in-hand with everything in the game. Nice to get some production in a win, and let’s try and build on it,” he said. This comment came after the Boston Bruins secured a 5-2 win against the red-hot Colorado Avalanche on Thursday night, showcasing a strong team effort.
