On today’s episode of Locked on Wild, we look at the difference between No Movement Clauses and No Trade Clauses to look at what could be done regarding particular Wild players if things get to the point of trying to move players off the roster. Movement is not impossible on several players, we just aren’t at the point where Bill Guerin is looking to do any of that. We also discuss the possibility of looking to move Jared Spurgeon now that his contract drops to a modified No Trade Clause on July 1st. We discuss Brock Faber as a logical successor in many different areas, such as on ice and leadership, and what the Wild could do with an additional $7.5 million to spend with most of the Parise/Suter cap hits already spoken for in Brock Faber/Marco Rossi and (potentially) Kirill Kaprizov. We also gear up for tonight’s game against Tampa Bay, and their top Power Play in the NHL, and look at Six Degrees of Separation as to whether or not Nick Perbix will score against the Wild this evening.

Some teams can age and continue to play at a high level. Tampa – Boston – Vegas –
The Blues when they won it, are examples. Why? They are big. The Wild are skilled and when playing at the top of their game, opponents will start the cheap stuff, playing the old fashioned goon game, going after our skill players and maybe knocking them out of the game / series. Dallas – Winnipeg – Vegas ( going back) all used the goon tactic. Until this roster beefs up, it’s an issue. Kane ( Edmonton ) knocking Brodin out is a classic example. Look at the Jets and Dallas taking liberties with 97, Vegas in G7 with Brodin, it goes on and on. Hoping the pipeline gets beefier – especially on the backend going forward.
