[JFresh] The theory about Suzuki either being an offensive weapon or a Selke-calibre shutdown centre, but never really both checks out this year. Passing-based chance creation back to previous levels, not taking a lot of chances himself, but brilliant defence

I don’t get what’s so hard to accept about the fact that he’s just really good at both ends of the ice. He’s a damn good player even if he’s not elite.

I mean the analytics say that he’s regressed offensively but thrived defensivley this year…but he’s also on pace for the same or more points this season than last season. There’s times when maybe looking at actual production is better than analytics.

  4. My biggest gripe with Suzuki this season is his consistency. Some days he looks like a mini Patrice Bergeron and then other nights he looks completely unmotivated to be on the ice.

I’m a glass half-full type of guy so to me this is relatively good news because it means he can decide to be one or the other depending on the situation and I feel with a good coach to help him manage the game this can be huge in the playoffs.

Suzi being a shutdown guy behind what we hope Dach can be is ideal
