  1. Re: Ottawa, I knew they wouldn't be as good as pundits and insiders were saying. I didn't realize they'd be this level of bad. Sure, they have 4-5 games in hand on most of the league, but they're 30th out of 32, and that's not something I foresaw in September.

  2. Wtf has Nylander ever done ?? Win a cup? Win scoring title ?? Leave it to the bums in Toronto to over pay the biggest bum on earth smh !! City is nasty cesspool of immigrants !! Change the city and maybe you will win cuz who ever runs the Leafs is a joke of a man !! Shannahan is bum , keef couldn't coach a jail team , threliving is as stupid as the come !! Toronto cesspool is the teams new name !! We over pay bums

  3. Player/outside fans can't criticize the flailing teams for having recognized the talented/skilled players, especially for drafting them. If players don't want to play for team, sure thats their, that's THEIR choice, but that team recognized the skill/ability of players. When the loss of that high end talent/skill and suddenly year-after-year of dog team, without recognizing why/how they became dog team. Now, with rule changes, dog team drafts high end talent 5 years in a row, and none of the high end talent want to play for dog-team. Players, even though its their choice, can cause it, and now its year 6. Too bad?

maybe that 5 year rule, s/b changed so as to accommodate those teams who do draft high end talent in 5 years, can sign those high end talent within that 5 years.

  4. as a flyers fan sure I'm more than disappointed that William (aka, Quitter Gauthier) is not coming to the Flyers — especially after he told the Flyers before the draft and at the draft how he was, "born to be a Flyer". That said, Gauthier certainly entitled to renege on his word but Gauthier absolutely owed the Flyers the decency of sitting down and talking with them face -to-face, especially given this was a new management team. Not acknowledging or responding to the Flyers shows an incredible lack of decency. Think the kid is just a wee bit spoiled and immature and in desperate need of some growing up – even for someone his age. All that said, sure he will be an incredible talent but as echoed by the Flyers, especially after they got their "room" cleaned up, if someone doesn't want to be a Flyer then, "see ya!" Getting Jamie Drysdale and a second rounder was a job well done y Briere.

  5. The process is simple, continue to overpay players and keep your team starved of depth for the next 100 years.

  6. i'd love to see the research to support a career well under a point per game, 1 time 80p (in 8 seasons) winger being worth 11.5M.
leafs fans going into that negotiation: this is a 9M winger, if the apocalypse hits he might get 10.5 cuz they overpay everyone. he got 11.5….
so the leafs are going to be icing literal pylons on defence and the 4th line here on out.

  7. If you're listening to this right now and are not directly involved with Nylander or receiving paychecks from the NHL, please find something meaningful to do with your life

  8. It all started with dubas. Cap going up or not, he knew the calibre of forward prospects the leafs had up front, and he knew their future was in good hands. Then his ego got in the way, and he took a franchise altering swing at winning before their entry level contracts ran out and signed Tavares to 11m. Unfortunately they didn’t win, and over time he became their 4th best player behind Matthews, marner ,and nylander. who all use the 11m and Tavares’s value as their benchmark in negotiation. It’s a massive mismanagement of elite homegrown prospects that should be studied as an example of what not to do when building a team in the modern nhl.

  9. “I think we all just believe in what we believe in” they believe in getting paid 💸💸💸

  10. Nylander doesn't want to go anywhere else but if Leafs didn't give him $11.5 x 8 he'd have no choice but to leave? Whenever we hear about other players wanting to stay in a team the deal is always much more team friendly. On the Leafs, nothing makes sense.

  11. Erik Brännström played two games as a forward last week, actually looked pretty good on the fourth line, had an assist and his line had 2 goals. He's back on defense for now.

  12. Aren't the Leafs 0-3 since dropping another huge chunk of change on one player? It's awesome that most of their cap is used on 5 players. Go Laffs!!

  13. JT- Matthew's. – nylander

    Bertuzzi – Domi – Marner

    – Knies- Holmburge – Järnkrok

    -Robertson. Kampf. -Gregor.

I they should try that out
