Welp, McDavid and the Oilers play dirty and hide behind the refs to continue their win streak. Not one to really compare the NHL to the NFL but for a “veteran” ref team, that was really pathetic. McDavid getting away with constant crosschecks and holds throughout the game.
During this game our D fell apart in the 2nd and the non-calls / penalties got to the boys. We got frustrated and started losing position. I do appreciate how aggressive we looked and how clean the majority of our hits and plays were. Tough to see Gourdo bleeding like that and the Oilers get the gate for only 2.
The boys know it’s been a tough road swing and I think Hak will be honest about the D but ultimately look at this and say, “what could we have done?” Referring to the officiating. He was shaking his head a lot of the bench tonight during these calls / non-calls. The boys will be home for a couple days and get some rest and reset. Lots of skill and the boys clicking well. Just need to maintain our composure and play smart.

I very much dislike playing the oilers because it never feels particularly close. Out matched for the last 2/3 of the game.
Despite the outcome I actually thought from an entertainment value perspective that game was fun lol
Can someone explain the three minute PP to me? If we got five minutes and the oilers got two, shouldn’t that mean two minutes of 4-on-4 and *then* a three minute oilers PP (if the game had gone on that long)?
