  1. Im gonna say this right now, Chevy should not overpay for Chychrun, at most Chevy should offer a 3rd, and either Schmidt or DeMelo. NO WAY in hell do you offer a 1st on him. And don't even go near Heinola, only way Im trading Heinola is if Crosby is coming to Wpg.

  2. Scott Billeck, Heinola made this team, he got injured, can you fucken imagine if Heinola was on this team all year?… you don't trade Heinola, pardon my french.

  3. Getting Chychrun would likely help the team offensively but possibly hurt us defensively. The Jets have allowed the fewest goals in the league by a pretty substantial margin (second fewest has allowed 12 more). So it depends what the team is looking for, if they're looking for more offense, I think they should do it with a forward.

  4. All the contract/money stufff aside, finding a 2-3 d man that can help improve our PP is our number one need. Going into playoffs our PP has to be a threat.

  5. With Chychrun at 25 with his skill he's not coming cheaply. The only way i pay the price for him If im Chevy is i want full access to discuss extension. If that is on the table this makes tons of sense. He becomes a core piece for the future
Id also want to find a new home for Schmidt as that salary loss clears the way for Chychrun.
But it also creates another problem, what then do you trade for a center?

  6. No trading Heinola for Chychrun. Especially Heinola and a 1st. That's insane. Not for a guy with 1 year that doesn't seem to have the right personality. So much better going after a beast warrior type like Rasmus Andersson or Chris Tanev.

  7. This is not the year for Chevy-junk to cheap out, if they want a 2C then get the best one available ie Lindholm. As for D, Tanev RD and a great stay at home D, and I believe he’s a great fit on the ice and in the locker room. How’s Chychrun in the locker room, 25 and whining again for a trade. Hard no for me.

  8. The Jets simply have to many players on there Roster and if they wanna improve the team perhaps a good dman and a gritty forward could improve the team for a deep playoff drive by trades?

  9. Chychrun has family in Ottawa and wanted to come there. The Senators also need defensemen and won't be willing to trade him for a first round pick which will be much lower than the first round pick they gave up to get him.

  10. It will cost too dearly to acquire Chychrun. Spend it on a legit @2C. Schmaltz? R Strome? among many other "off-the-board" 2C's that Chevy may already be pursuing. Scheifele on the shelf exposes the Jets glaring weakness at centre. Forget Lindholm! He will not sign in Winnipeg. Much too expensive for a rental who is playing disinterested hockey in Calgary.

  11. 2 players I'd be looking at for the Jets would be Chychrun and Mittelstadt, and
both are great players, and Mittelstadt is affordable, with big upside, and longer
term resigning potential. Not sure if Chychrun would resign with the Jets.

Heinola has never proved he could make the Jets squad, so trading him, we
would not be losing anything in my opinion. He's small and not physical.
