When an a player trips another player on a break away and that player recovers they almost never call it a penalty, which doesn't make sense. Johnny has that uncanny ability to recover and continue skating after getting tripped or even finish a play despite getting whacked dozens of times without getting any call, and people are giving him shit for embellishing. I don't condone it but I totally get why he's doing it.
If he had a little faster top speed or a little better shot, he would be up there with McDavid as one of the best in the league. As is, he's a great playmaker, but not one of those guys that can win games by themselves. Hopefully he and Mony will have good chemistry with Neal next season. Could be great if they work well together.
