  1. Pens forgot there was a third period and looked pathetic and disgusting . Sign Corry Perry now and get some pride and grit .Pens never throw a body check in their own end game after game .

  2. I donā€™t get how we play a solid 2 periods and than play like that in the 3rd embarrassing. And man Malkin costing the 2nd and 3rd goal and getting a penalty heā€™s been awful

  3. Geno needs to be traded . He takes a terrible penalty all the time . He takes one after they score two goals to tie the game. The entire team besides of few players refuse to check. I have never seen so many soft players! This game was critical to win and now they are 7th in the division! They still have so far to go from here. They had a 4 day break to get healthy and lay a egg! I think Iā€™m going to take a break from watching themā€¦!

  4. Looking at these other comments Iā€™ll be the voice of dissent and say I donā€™t think 2-0 ever reflected the status of the game. Pens played excellent in the first two periods, but so did the Knights. Jarry stonewalled their best chances, while their goalie let two in for us – that was the only difference. It was very equally matched, until the Knights were the obviously better team in the third. Not at all a game where having a two-goal lead felt like a comfortable win the entire time that they threw away (but don't get me wrong, it was entirely an evenly matched game that they could have secured by not doing… the entirety of that third period).

  5. I think Genoā€™s still got itā€¦ difference is, in the past, he could float for a whole game and get 2 points. It was effortless for him to score on the ppā€¦ ā€œwasā€. I donā€™t know if boneheaded is the right word, I would just say soft passes, soft shots leading to easy interceptions and blocks. Malkin has looked good in the few stints heā€™s had on the 2nd unit so why not? Itā€™s clear he plays better with Letang on pp to me anyways

  6. I still think they need to add poulin for harkins or carter for a few games. The depth isn't sinking the team but it's lacking a spark. White seems better than Z at this point so that's a good sign, but I just think accari needs some better support on his wings and that will make a difference.
White- accari-poulin sounds better to me. There are many combinations that they could cycle through.

  7. Malkin is hurting the second line. Doc and rust are working hard out there and malkin is not engaged. What about putting Doc at center and move malkin to 2lw?

  8. They could even slide eller up to 2c and drop malkin to play with pusti and white as the 3c. Temporary but i think he needs some consequences for bad play. That could spark the bear.

  9. The team came out in the 3rd and just stopped playing. 1 shot on goal in the first 11 minutes of the 3rd period. They are too tenured and too experienced for that to happen. And yet it happens time and again under sullivan. Maybe sully should start sitting the star players as he does with the less tenured guys. Geno should not be on the PP but Reirdon wont make significant changes. If they are not significantly more consistent by the all star game, the jake conversation is definitely going to get louder. I get losing to a good team in vegas but the losses to buffalo, ottawa, chicago, etc are points they gave away. Could this team as they are currently constructed win a series against any team above them in the standings? How tired does this team get in march when they have 16 games? if they cant get points in january when well rested……

  10. Let's not drop it all on Geno and Peterson. Everybody gets bad nights. For Geno particularly after long pause he loses tempo. He'll bounce back

  11. I love this podcast, very detailed, lots of insights. Th only thing I don't get is the shift and swing of the mood and conclusions you guys make from game to game. Malkin has multi point games you sing anthems, than he fails to give his best one night, and you're all into 'Oh this is a disaster'. I guess it's a bit of a mentality feature to exagerate , but hey, calm down and be a bit more balanced.

  12. Malkin's lack of urgency and passion really shows out there. He has been spoiled and has relied on the power play in past years to cover up the liability he is . There is no drive or tenacity out there. He's just floating and is lifeless. He once could get away with it, but not now!
