  1. Why does everyone want to move Markstrom? He is playing good and every flames fan wants to trade him. It makes no sense to me personally.

  2. As a flames fan. Between the two I would prefer if the Flames traded Vladar over Markstrom. Especially if you wanna make the playoffs Markstrom is just the better goalie overall. He can also provide veteran mentorship for Wolf as time goes on

  3. All the talk about Marky to NJ makes no sense. One: The flames would have to retain 50% no team is taking the full 6m and does Cal really wanna be paying him 3m for the rest of his contract i dont think so. 2:He is old and is a very up and down goalie. 3: The last two years on Markys deal has a 2m bonus. If im the Devils im staying FAR away from him unless he comes with hanifin or Tanev but that gonna cost ALOT.

  4. Regarding Minnesota
Finally they put Merrill kosky on the bench, why they waited this long is beyond me, with Brodin back this transformes the defense,, they now have 3 lines of defense
This will make a big difference
They have to go on ten game win streak
To get back in the race

  5. Nichuskin's issue last year in the playoffs happened because he was drunk and had a pretty noisy screaming match with a woman, I wish him the best in him getting cleaned up from (probably) overdrinking.

Fleury could play a 2nd goalie role again if not Minnesota, where the #1 goalie is the kind that plays close to 70, so I guess Colorado? Although I'd love him to go finish his career with Pittsburgh and be a mentor to Jarry and Nedjelkovic and maybe just goal 10 game tops. He's one of those guys who can play until 40 and likely better than Mike Smith at that age. Not that I wish for him to beat Brodeur records, that's impossible/too late, take your pick.

  6. I presented this question in our hockey talk group yesterday: do we think the fact that so many players are being admitted to the assistance program now is a sign of positive change or negative change? Obviously it would be a positive change if it's a sign of players being willing to seek help for problems that have always existed, but that used to go untreated before, but it could also be a sign of there being more serious mental health issues now in the NHL.

If I had to guess, I would definitely guess that it's a sign of players being willing to ask for help. But it could be worth looking into, because I could absolutely see it going the other way too, with the way the pressure from the fans and media is such a constant now with social media and whatnot.

  7. Hockey guy . You need a market correction. On power rankings. Flyers should move up 4 spots with their 4 game winning streak. Lol!!! Go hockey gu!!!!

  8. Ever since the Flyers won those back to back games against the Pens, I've been saying they won't regress and actually have what it takes to make playoffs

  9. Teams that have no movement clauses, are they allowed to sit those players? I can totally see teams doing that as an option if it means forcing them to make a move, as it ruins any future contract opportunities

  10. Also Markstrom, life stuff; has about a one year old child, just got married in the last month. One of those would at least factor in. But selfishly… do you wanna win a cup this season?

  11. We're definitely gonna miss Big Val, but I'm really happy his going into the PAP. The loss against the…*groan*…Habs I don't think was down to that. Some unlucky bounces, some grit from the Canadiens. I don't think we were missing anything, just couldn't quite get that last little bit.

  12. I always wondered about those rather obscure stats too lol.. its like they always have one to pull up for any single event happening in a game 😂

  13. Wild fan here, shaking my head about Guerin as THG correctly predicted. Even if we go on an all-time heater and sneak into the playoffs, how many games do you really think we'd win against a top opponent like WPG, DAL, COL or VAN? It's time to take this season on the chin, rest vets and call up some youth for seasoning. We don't have much to trade away, but anything that can help with the future needs to be seriously considered. PLEASE stop acting like this could still be our year.

  14. Justin Williams is my favorite hockey player of all time
So glad Carolina did this hopefully he’s remembered as a cane
But enjoy & glad he won 2 rings at LA
