In this edition of Locked on Capitals Dan talks about the Capitals most recent loss to the St Louis Blues in St Louis. This is quite an about face from the Capitals previous game against the Blues on Thursday evening where the Capitals defeated the Blues. The Blue s didn’t allow for much opportunity to get the Capitals offense going. Evgeny Kuznetsov was demoted to the 4th line and Nic Dowd was promoted to the top line. Kuzy has struggles with consistency this entire season. Nic Dowd has been one of the bright sports for the Capitals. The Capitals sign Aliaksei Protas to a five-year extension with their eyes on the present and future as Protas has been a big contributor to the Capitals offense this season. IN the final segment Dan talks about Clay Stevenson and how he’s ranked number one in all of the AHL in net. Clay Stevenson made 28 saves to earn his American Hockey League-leading sixth shutout of the season and set a club rookie record as the Hershey Bears (31-7-0-2) picked up a 1-0 victory over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (20-14-5-0) in front of a crowd of 10,628 on Saturday night at GIANT Center. Stevenson’s shutout moved him past Vitek Vanecek (2016-17) and Ron Hextall (1985-86) for sole possession of the franchise single-season record for shutouts by a rookie netminder.
