Or description let’s jump in first to the game Jesse and there’s not a whole lot of great stuff but in a nine to were lost where Samuel mono had his ah you know what I don’t even know if I want to say it was his worst performance of the

Season he got hung out to dry by the defense he got hung out to drive for eight goals in the day Patrick wild was hired by the New York Islanders to be their interim head coach the HS left monteo in for eight goals anyway but at the same time Let’s

Ignore Let’s ignore the bottom there let’s just ignore the fact that the Bruins dominated the Habs defense we got to talk a bit about some positives and the first thing Josh Anderson Back great to see him back and healthy um but Jesse there’s a lot talk about Coffield

Monahan and W I think namely of course lavovi getting a point too um let’s start with Joshua W because honestly for me he has been so impressive since he’s been put in the lineup with Monahan he’s been nothing but but great on the ice I thought he’s fit in perfectly what are

Your thoughts on Joshua W so far I think that Marty St Loui really likes his game as a lot and probably sees a little bit of himself there as well um you know what’s so interesting about his play is you know as Marty said is unless you give him a reason to you

Know what I mean you’re going to have a place in the big Club so I feel like he’s doing everything he needs to right now already becoming a fan favorite like I almost feel like this might move the Tanner Pearson trade up a little bit

Like we all feel like that was kind of an inevitability given just the amount of forwards that we have so many young guys being able to step up this year but with his play his increased play right I feel like that’s moving up the timeline of a Tanner Pearson trade that much more

Yeah I mean it wouldn’t shock me I mean w has looked oh man that chemistry on that line is crazy I mean his assist to armia tonight it’s a hockey junkie tweet waah wa to Mario you can’t write it up any better than that but uh that that

Just sick feed right to armia to to answer the the the Bruins goal and to tie it back up he has been so so so good and I think you might be right like At first I was like I don’t know if they want to keep him up for the rest of the

Season keep him down to Laval and develop but this dude’s a legit middle six guy for the Habs already I know a small sample size but I’ve been nothing but impressed um but on that same vein I want to talk a bit about Monahan who had three assists tonight he’s up to 31

Points I well actually I’m not sure if Hockey DB updated before or after the game regardless he’s playing Amazing he’s currently out producing Johnny gdo so that’s a bit funny his former Calgary teammate he has yeah he has more goals and more points in fewer games than

Johnny GD better than GD just amazing stuff Jesse uh Monahan is definitely getting some teams noticing him and uh I mean you got to feel like the price for him might even just be going up and up as of late for sure obviously other teams you know see this as well you know

I think we definitely need to put some respect on the name of Shawn manahan so many people have kind of Forgotten just about how good this player is and once everybody kind of forgot about him he still plays great and then it still isn’t quite getting the respect that you

Deserve this is a quality hockey player not only producing more offensively than Johnny gd’s former teammate this year but obviously inarguably a better defensive allaround player as well but speaking for another player that starts with an m on the Habs tonight I think have to speak about about mat tonight

You know like him passing to slavy tonight definitely a positive yes like I couldn’t even it when I saw it at first I’m like oh my god did Mike Matson finally pass it to your I slap CI because this is the one key thing that this Montreal Canadians team needed so

Much especially on their power play right we saw that was a positive tonight too of of that clicking for us as well but like a big thing on the power play is you want to get the opposition’s goalie moving side to side and if mat is

Just feeding to Cofield all the time you know to his left right you’re not getting that lateral movement from the goalie side to side that you really need so by getting slav involved in the play now on the right side as well M and quarterbacking that from the point

Obviously you’re opening up so many more points of attack so you know you’re cost getting that respect you know it takes time but it came through tonight definitely the fact that this has been UNL unlocked for the Montreal Canadians is going to be huge going forward I

Don’t even think slav could believe it I think it was what at the end of the second period there cuz slap fan on the first P he got from Mad on a big onetime I think he was just shocked but awesome for that but SLA got a nice assist as

Well on the power play he kind of coralled the puck along the boards fed it to Monahan who fed it download to Coffield who continues his goal streak which is now up to five games again it’s like Kent you spoke it into existence Coffield shooting percentage is going up

So there’s not all negatives it was one of the worst defensive games I think I have ever seen from a Montreal Canadians team but hey it’s not all bad and uh you know hopefully they can bounce back from these two embarrassing games we know they can do that in their next outing

But we got to talk about something that happened at the intermission and Elliot Freedman was out there at the intermission looking as cold as you can possibly look and like you said Jesse he was either freezing to death or he was breaking out in hives my goodness

Elliott put on a hat he was out there with Ron mlan who was all bundled up Elliot oh my goodness man like I try and warm up but what he said was that the Montreal Canadians have been getting asks about Arbor Jacky and Kent Hughes

Has been Adam in saying it’s a flat no basically Jacky is not touchable he’s Untouchable going into this trade deadline the Habs have said no to anyone that has even come calling and Jacky has been really really good as of late too Jesse even if it’s been in the AHL 11

Points in 17 games and of course his most recent game to have Prospect videos as always they posted a great video on this go check it out it’s over 40,000 views now uh highlights from that game it was a crazy game lval versus Belleville Jack ey course getting into a

Fight being physical the whole whole time um so this raises some questions for me Jesse because my first reaction was well if Jacky’s Untouchable to me that also means gh’s untouchable right because ghouly at this point is better and then also there’s no way they’re going to trade Hudson and we still have

Mat like what is the plan for the left D position heading into the next year or two CU math isn’t still going to be here Hudson could be here at the end of the year gul’s already there maybe he moves to right d and you still have Harris you still have

Strubel it just I I I’m I’m totally cool with not moving Jacky but at the same time I just wonder like when is this going to clear up it’s true you know and I don’t think that Jacky is necessarily Untouchable yet but they know what they have in him

And they don’t want to sell before they really know fully what they have in arur Jacky which you know from all intents and purpos that we’re seeing right now is a very high ceiling that’s just increasing all the time but the volters are kind of swirling right now maybe

That’s not the best way to refer to like you know rival GMS and everything but they’re feeling like okay maybe he’s outside of the grace with for Kent Hughes and that’s the reason he’s in with the Laval rocket I would argue the exact opposite it’s actually because

They believe in Arbor Jacky so much that they’re grooming him down in the lout rocket and he’s just done that he’s gonna be an even better more improved and impact player once he comes up here with the Montreal Canadians right so you know I really think that they’re they’re

Being good to recognize what they have in them but it’s very rare where you see like a guy who was undrafted in Arbor Jacky and we’ve heard rumors of first round picks um everything else like that and Kent is just flat out removing that now we don’t hear that all the time but

I think it’s great that they recognize that there is something really special with this player and again he showed that uh on full display just the other night basically rushing the opposition like a Raging Bull in a fight taking him down just being able to really take over

The game in in so many different ways right now obviously he’s really contributed to winning hockey for the Laval rocket and I think we could both agree Josh like that’s what it’s all about yeah it is and if he’s able to contribute to winning hockey that’s what

Every team wants and like we’ve said a million times here he is he’s the kind of player that’s I don’t want to say a Dying Breed because it’s not but it’s definitely not as common as it used to be in hockey like this kind of player

But again like you we’ve said before a lot of people have him very high in his offensive upside namely JF and lafal and it’s like like you said you don’t want to move him for probably what other teams are going to be asking right and you got to think maybe part of the

Reason it’s been a flat no is because other teams might have come saying like well look he’s an AHL player for you so we’ll give you AHL value I don’t know if teams are coming in here offering a first for him maybe they have and maybe

Kent uses even shut that down but I don’t know like you said you don’t want to move him before you know or at least have a better idea of what he’s going to be and with his unique skill set what people call him the Unicorn all this kind of

Stuff and you never know if every other have defenseman prospects going to pan out right could you move Jacky maybe over to right d could you move gly over to right d you can make things work if you really want them there long term but

Just to end off the video sort of a quick question for you do you think that the Habs left Decor let’s say once mat is gone in a few years like we’re talking three four years from now do you think at least in Kent Hugh’s mind that

It’s gouie Hudson Jacky in some order like that because to me that kind of seems like the direction that they might be going it is the direction that we’re going but obviously so much can change in three years from now even in one year from now was so great is that we’re

Giving ourselves so many options you have to feel like you know gh’s got that inside track Hudson as he’s projecting if everything kind of pans out well obviously he seems like a lock there too but they want arbert to be in that conversation as well and I think he kind

Of balances out like a lane Hudson type and even a Kaden ghouly type very well as well so I think he’s a great addition to have they want C and rightfully so and it’s just going to be up for Jack ey he’s just having every opportunity right now to to

Really take that spot for the future and you know what I have full confidence in his ability to be able to do that I think so too I think he really wants to do that I think he’s shown a lot of Promise in Laval with Logan Mayu maybe

That’s a pairing they’re trying to they’re trying to move up to the NHL for the future it’s been it’s been really wild watching how many good haps prospects there are I mean what was today I think there was like seven or eight HS prospects that scored goals

Hudson scored a goal in today’s game has 10th of the season after having a four assist game his last outing there’s a lot of awesome stuff going down hoping we see Ryan Bacher at some point soon too a lot of stuff to be excited about but yeah heard no on Jacky from Kent

Hughes what do you guys think about that let us know down below because it’s it was a bit surprising to hear that on the one hand but on the other hand we know the Habs covet Jacky a lot so what do you think do you think it’s worth

Hearing what other teams have to offer for him or would you also be like K use and say no for sure that’ll do it for this episode of habs digest if you enjoyed leave a like comment subscribe to the channel Chanel if you’re part of the thousands that haven’t hit that

  1. Great show xhekaj for me a is a huge asset the habs will not trade that unique player he is in the long future plan of the team

  2. Absolutely no trading Arbor. Without size in the playoffs your team wears down. With guys the size of slav and Arbor we will be the ones wearing down the other side. Arbor is untouchable imo. Barron…Harris are getting better all the time and in a year or so eill fetch good market value.

  3. The way he was playing he wouldn’t have lasted in the league, far too many fights. I think they wanted him to become a more complete player, that can play and that doesn’t feel the need to fight against any fringe player.

  4. Remember when they trade Subban…lost a lot of fans on that day. If they trade Xhekaj…same phenomenon will happen. This guy has a non trade clause from the fan's point of view. Hughes take notice.

  5. Arber is a core player for the next decade, let him develop and more tempered game. Hutson has no chance with out him in the line up. Kovie should be playing-best +/-. They need his stability. Savard and maybe even Matheson are not in the short term plan. Matheson is always out of position.

  6. Pez and Andie won impressive fights recently…add in Arber=rock and roll hockey. Let Roy develop and Cole flower under their protection. Trade vet Ds for an elite prospect…like Quinn or Peterka from the Sabres. Bring Formington back to the NHL on the Habs. He can team up with Logan for the bad boy media frenzy. Ethics? You have Putin’s Team players raking in the dough…there is nothing worse then that Bettman.

  7. Been watching Engstrom…very serious talent…great wheels, size physicality. With Reinbacher you have an excellent NHL pairing. Next year will be a blast watching how they manage all of these young D prospects.

  8. If they want to trade some player… they have to let them play in NHL… sending Xhekaj to Laval implies removing him from the offer sheet.

  9. I feel like Montreal is in a tough spot….unless one of the D gets hurt they cannot bring up a guy, anyone of the young guys get waived the vultures will pounce. Kinda looks that a trade is in the future to get any value rather than lose players to waivers like just happened last week.

  10. Kent knows he's a fan favorite, and leaving the fans their rags to riches story is worth more pr wise, than a trade that could flop.

  11. I’ve been following the Montréal Canadiens since 1993 and let me tell you I’ve never felt so happy about the development of all these players and the amount we have in our future looks so bright thank you Ken Hughes and Jeff Gordon. It’s just amazing to see it makes gives me butterflies thinking about her future and I just can’t wait to move forward and develop these guys and it’s really does suck that we have to pick and choose who’s gonna be there butit’s amazing. It’s never been like this ever since I’ve been a fan.
