  1. Maybe Roy will be do a better job with the Isles. When he was coach at Colorado, there was too much internal politics going on on who does what, especially with Joe Sakic. This time he's just a coach, and nothing else which means he can concentrate on coaching without front office interventions.

  2. Roy already sees the weak side of the Islanders game, he will tighten up the defence and have the forwards playing positional hockey, then it’s just a matter of getting the special teams clicking, but mostly having the team believing in themselves that they can win every game. Good first win 👍🏻.

  3. I'm really happy to see Roy in the NHL again. He is THE man and as an Avs fan, I'm a little bit jealous he's in NY.

  4. Wow! Habs should have scooped him up when they had the chance! Very proud for Roy! They couldn’t have picked a better coach! Bravo Patrick!

  5. He understands the game like no other ! If the boys listen to his guidance, apply his instructions, they will have a satisfying season 2024.

  6. I has season tickets in Montreal during his reign, it was fantastic the energy fro the fans was amazing, was fun to be there back then, Merci Patrick!

  7. 'e was 'appy that John and Doug was 'elpful 😋👍
Anyways I think Roy will do a great job and it's going to be interesting to watch.

  8. Lots of positivity from the coach and players after game one. Definitely need to work on those failed clearing attempts leading to tired players infront of our terrific goalie.

  9. Watched the game so happy for him back in the NHL. Nice to see the Islanders win over the Stars. Stick it to Duchene is a little payback for Roy.

  10. So far so good. I am not expecting a Stanley Cup. But he was happy with effort but knows they give up too many shots.

  11. People don't realize what he built in Quebec. He built a complete team who destroyed its competition. He's a winner.

  12. I've been an Islanders diehard since the 70's and love the hiring of Patrick Roy, as he brings a pedigree to the Islanders that's unmatched as far as his career goes and he brings that fiery passion that this team desperately needs. Some players may get weeded out as time goes by, but I absolutely love having Roy behind the bench and hopefully he can get this team into the playoffs and we can do some damage once there. Lets Go Islanders !!

  13. Now let's see Lou work with the cap and make some moves. If not this season, the next. A couple of moves and this becomes a powerful team with Patrick at the helm.

  14. For a hockey legend like Roy to admit his nervousness shows a lot of humility. I’m glad he’s back in the NHL and I hope he turns this Isles team around.
