The Ottawa Senators are turning things around as they collect three of four possible points in back to back games this weekend!
Brandon Piller and Ross Levitan recap the weekend that saw the Sens lose 2-1 in overtime to the Winnipeg Jets and win 5-3 against the Philadelphia Flyers. Shane Pinto made his season debut and had a point in the win. The Sens players mom’s were treated to a good show and continue on with the team. Vladimir Tarasenko showed his leadership receiving the fire helmet and immediately handing into to Pinto. How do we feel about whether to trade Tarasenko or re-sign him? And as the mid season point was past on the weekend, we take a look back at how the first half went.

A Team should always play a sryle that is defined by the type of players they have. A 4th line will not play the same style, the top rwo lines play. This is why morinic statements like "a Team's Identity" makes no sense. The only identity they all should share is" no quit, hard to play against, finish their checks. I don't think Joseph gets the love he should. He's tied with Noris in points playing 2 less games. He and Tarasenko are great together…oh, Vlad is a whopping +15!!!! I wonder, does an ex-Ottawa Senator defenceman who's name rhymes with Hason York still want to trade STUTZLE for Lefreneire? Do he and his coming in not friends still believe the Sens "need to tade some of their core" players? This Team is only a few players away. Get a good goalie and a couple of big, tough, responsible defencemen!
Tarasenko is a keeper. He has experience and is good in the locker room. He is a +15 in a team in last place in the Eastern Conference. He seems to be happy in Ottawa.

An interexting n9te is Laval and Belleville have almost identical records (40pts) in the Manures and they went after it last game. Montreal just recalled The Sheriff, so he will be in the lineup on Tuesday. At 6-4, 240lb he's an imposing kid and he can really go. We could be in for a testy affair.

If you're trying to extend Toresenko, do you try to extend Giroux at the same time for similar years and dollars? Remember that you will have to think about a Chychyrun extension as well.

Heres how i see it. If Tarasenko wants to re-sign as does Giroux, Staios has to ponder about trading Norris and maybe Batherson too. If Grieg and Stutzle are their 1-2, and Pinto on 3, where does Norris fit, as does Batherson? If Grieg outdoes Norris ( which I think he has), you have to trade him. Youll get good value for him, as he has a very good long term contract. For Batherson, you could also get great value for him, but those two guys are too good to be depth players, and this team needs cap space to improve this team. Love them if you want, but you cant keep this many 8M players, and remember we are still at the bottom of the league, so changes has to be done. What to do on defense, either Chychrun or Chabot has to go. If Chychrun wants out, move him, and get a good RHD. If he wants to stay, move Chabot before his NMC comes in effect. They need good cap room to make the right additions to push this team into the playoffs hopefully next season, but big changes still have to be done. Where Dorion was horrible at, is using the RFA to its fullest to see exactly what you got. He was hasty and didnt do his due diligence.

Took some time but you can finally see the team playing better and ditching some bad habits under Jacques and Alfie.. imagine where they could be if ownership change didn't take so long and Andlaeur could've brought in an experienced coach/manager before camp
