I personally would have preferred Arber remained in Laval, at least until after the trade deadline when there would be a little more clarity with our roster (esp on D) moving forward. Laval has been on a heater of late and he has definitely helped the confidence in the team as well as helped in Mailloux's development so the Arber call up is not good news for Laval. I personally think Arber still needs to improve his defensive game and learning when to and not to use his physicality. BUT, with that said…Arber's defence will be an improvement over Barron's AND we all know the presence of Arber definitely puts all opposing NHL teams on notice and helps give his teammates confidence so I do agree with DD's assessment that this team has lacked that big body sandpaper/physicality (Pezetta has been that guy for us but being a healthy scratch and not playing on a regular basis obviously has been tough on him to remain consistent).
I hope his presence will be able to provide the mental spark/motivation that they need. We know that he'll be energized by the Bell Centre fans, as will the rest of the team.
Love the fact that spots in the lineup won't be handed to players , they have to be earned ,the competition is stiff . Arber will be better due to his time in laval.
