  1. Well I hope our star players leave some cap space for the other player on the roster,it's s a team game and Toronto has shown us a team is more that just 4 players.i understand they want their share ,just leave some for the support players.

  2. Like i predicted before the season started. Canucks would make the playoffs easily. Boeser would have a career year, and Petey would get his winning team and he will eventually sign for too much money and that will lead to the Toronto, Edmonton scenario of not having enough cap to ice a competitive team and they will start losing again. So far i am batting 1.000.

  3. What's a player worth if he only plays like a $12 million player for half the season?
Is a player really ever worth over $10 million? Not a single team has won a cup, in the cap era, while paying a player over $10 million. And theres a clear reason why. (Let's just say the Leafs are screwed.)
I would rather see Pettersson traded than pay him over $10m while the cap is where it is for the next few years. If he gets an all-time high contract because of the two 100 point seasons, the Canucks are absolutely screwed for the next 5 or so years. It's absolutely unsustainable.
Maybe as the cap grows to $95-100+, and Miller, Hughes, Demko, and Petey are in their later years, and we've got some new up-and-comers, that will be our time, if we pull a TOR and drop $10m+ on all our best players right now.
But an $83-88m cap is not high enough to pay a player over $10 and also have the depth needed for a cup, unless you're SUPER lucky with ELCs.

  4. Carson Soucy being out will definitely hurt they're standing over the next month. He better not turn into Sami Salo 2.0……..Sigh.

  5. You said it. It took the lotto line reformation to get him to this level. McDavid McKinnon and Matthews can produce on any line That’s the 1 million + difference

  6. Seriously stop the pre game jinxes. Yeah yeah you go the Columbus one right but why do it. Just like short house saying the opposition is on the cusp of tying it and they do. PMO Shortie.

  7. Pettersson isn’t 4.5 million dollars better than JT Miller. That’s the problem. I would take another JT Miller plus a good solid top 4 dman for a total of 12.5 million rather than just pettersson.

  8. Probably they already came to an agreement. Waiting now for the trade deadline to optimize their lines and announce it then.
In the meantime, media, journalists, bloggers and influencers can spread rumours and produce content …

  9. Leafs really fuked the Canucks with that Nylander deal… how are you gonna pay Petey LESS?? You can't.
$12mil aav have for short term now… even more for long term.

  10. everyone forgets how good noah juulson was playing….. canucks will keep winning during soucy's recovery time ,, no need to worry

  11. personally i think petterson will give all out this year for the cup.. but after i think he would rather play in a non hockey crazy city like somewhere in the states… i havent seen him once acknowledge the fans unless i missed it…

  12. pettersson isn't resigning lol

excuses, excuses, excuses, guy sounds like john taveras in long island, take the hint 😂

  13. Elias pettersson should get 12M or 12.5M dollars for a contract extension this spring during the NHL trade deadline
