I said it the other night, that 2nd period power play was a turning point to get this team back on track. Whatever the spell was that kept pucks from going in has been broken. The Rangers are back. This is the most adversity I remember this team facing in a long time from an injury perspective. They are in a good position to close the season out strong. Drury will work some magic at the deadline. People’s heads might explode, but I have a ton of confidence in this group.

I know it’s not LITERALLY a must win……but you have to pick up 2 points tonight against SJ (and it would be great if we could play a full 60 minutes).

Late night in the office for me. A big win from the boys will hopefully push me through it
I still have high hopes for this team.
3rd line looks like it’s starting to form up, Cuylle especially has a bright future ahead of him.
Vesey and Laf have it man….these guys get scoring chances, I have faith they’ll start to bury them when it matters most (I know, I know, cope or whatever).
Igor isn’t having his best year, but all that is meaningless if he can channel his inner Hill/Bobrovsky and lock it down when it’s crunch time (yes, I’m still coping).
Defense most certainly needs to lock it down and help out the goaltending, ESPECIALLY when Igor is hit or miss rn.
Most importantly, Mika. Yes, he’s clearly slumping, and yet he’s still just about a PPG player right now. People shit on Kreider’s 5v5 skill, but he has been doing his best to carry that line through one of Mika’s worst slumps I can remember. Let them cook, don’t blow it up when players hit a pitfall.

After listening to Blueshirts Breakaway this morning, one of them went on a rant about how the other teams are struggling more: Devils, Hurricanes etc and how their problems are much more worse than the current Rangers right now. So, the next time we all complain, just be glad the Rangers’ problems are bad as those two teams.
Oh and it’s DQ’s fault.
Here’s some numbers that nobody asked for: Despite winning their last 2, Sharks are 3-14-1 in their last 18, which includes a 12-game losing streak. GF during that stretch is 34 for a paltry 1.89 avg. GA is 72 for a very generous 4.0 avg.
Also, Sharks are 3-2-1 in the second game of back-to-backs this season. They’ve been shutout in 3 of those and allow 3.5 GA, while only putting up 1.83 GF.
Yeah, our boys haven’t been playing great hockey lately but this is an absolute smash spot for them. I think we put up at least 5 and wipe the floor with the Sharts. There’s really no excuse not to.
Need a commanding win over them
With Lavi being the coach for the Metro, would it be frowned upon or allowed to just bench Igor for the ASG? That way he can be there for the festivities but not play. Pitchers will sometimes do this in the MLB ASG
