Bedard Needs Help

Nhl Chicago blackhawks got shut out by the vancouver canucks keeping them 31st in nhl standings today and with connor bedard injury to his jaw keeping him out another 6 weeks at least, they are right in the midst of the 2024 nhl draft lottery for macklin celebrini . If not, recent draft rankings suggest cole eiserman or ivan demidov could be part of the connor bedard highlights reel soon enough, but we’ll have to see. For more recaps, breakdowns and reactions to nhl highlights today , hockey news and rumors and obviously more connor bedard coverage (less from interviews now than I used to, but more from goals like his michigan and the overall state of the chicago blackhawks ), subscribe to Johnny hawkey . We’ll be covering some of the nhl games today also so stay tuned for that. Nhl hockey 2024

  1. GUYS HE IS NOT MISSING 6 MORE WEEKS. According to multiple sources, he is still on track to make a recovery in the SPAN of 6 weeks, the NHL needs to check their sources and stop being lazy

  2. Unpopular opinion. The Blackhawks don't need Celebrini, I would only pick Celebrini if the Hawks land #1. If they get 3, 4, they need Demidov/Eiserman

  3. I want to clarify this. Its actually 6 weeks from the surgery.

Not 6 more weeks added from the original 6-8 weeks

  4. Bedard and Celebrini talent wise would be pretty disgusting. I'm not sure they'd win a ton of games though, as I feel like Bedard would do best with a big power forward on his line – I could be entirely wrong though.

  5. Really intrigued by the dynamic duo phenomenon in hockey, would love to see some breakdowns maybe of how they came to be (and maybe ones that didnā€™t quite work out?) more stuff like this! Love the work, huge fan šŸ™‚

  6. Would love to see some more background videos on the best duos in the nhl!! Thatā€™s an awesome idea

  7. I do like the content. Interesting and thought-provoking, this one. Something I'll definitely be monitoring on the side now.

  8. The new rules for lottery selection are that 1st overall cannot happen for the same team more than twice in a 5 year span. I want to see better players alongside Bedard but I would hate to see another 1st go to this terrible hockey team. This should have been an amazing rookie season for Bedard, but the Blackhawks didn't create an environment for his success.

  9. Heā€™s not going to miss an additional 6 weeksā€¦ LR was just saying heā€™s not going to be back sooner than the what was originally reported, which was 6 weeks, that was almost 3 weeks ago. Good chance heā€™s back by Valentineā€™s Day ..

  10. He needs help? he has the worse plus minus in the league for all rookies. His team actually wins games sonce he's out. His face off percentage AS A GENERATIONAL CENTER is 40%…… he hurts his team more than helping thwm (in the current state).

Everybody got to calm down. This kid hasn't proofen anyrhing in his career and the first hit he got send him straight to hospital.

Before we talk he neds help we need to talk ablut the veterans in thts team are in need for help….

  11. At least 4 players in the Hawks prospect pool were on the Gold Medal US Team this year so I think he is pretty secure for the next few years.
Unless they pull a Bowman and trade prospects for various quality players then it would be a concern but they got some interesting young guns.

  12. Or remember Datsyuk and Zetterberg. Those guys came nowhere near the first round and tore up the league together.

  13. I feel bad because now these much bigger players are going to just nail him to boards , he might be the greatest but he might just need a body guard to play with him

  14. Its wils when you think that Bedard was top pf the rookie leader boards for goals assists and points ON ONE OF THE WORST TEAMS IN THE NHL. Imagine he was on a good team like Vegas, Edmonton or something like that omg, the numbers would be doubled.

  15. Draft lottery should favor the teams that come closest to the playoffs without getting in. Not the worst teams that manage to do some extra tanking when they can see no playoff hopes

  16. Sucks. McDavid got shafted in his first season too. I'd love to see an analysis on the seasons leading up to a duo's formation.

  17. Let's not forget Chicago also REALLY needs some help in net too. Real shame so much money is tied up in Seth Jones' contract.

  18. I could not agree more. I have been screaming this point at anyone who will listen. GM Davidson can rest on his prospects. IMO regardless of how the next lottery goes, we 100% need to spend either players or more likely some future draft capital on getting Bedard someone <21 y.o. asap to avoid opposing teams having 4 guys on top of him as soon as he touches the puck. Call us the Chicago Ice Hogs right now…

  19. HE IS NOT MISSING 6 EXTRA WEEKSā€¦IT WAS MISINTERPRETED BY A REPORTER AND NOW THE MEDIA IS WRITING ABOUT IT UNTRUTHFULLY. Luke Richardson was asked if Bedard was progressing on schedule and he said timeline hasnā€™t changed it should be around 6 more weeks(as in from when he had surgery for it two weeks ago)

Hope this offers some clarity bc itā€™s literally all over the place and is untrue

  20. I meanā€¦his rookie season he gets his jaw busted!?!? Wtf? Iā€™m not a Chicago fan but this kid is a target and thatā€™s not cool man. Are these nhl vets so jealous that theyā€™re trying to end a great kids career? Already!?!. Not cool! I love gritty hockey, but this kid needs an enforcerā€¦even in todayā€™s more ā€œcivilizedā€ game.

  21. Hawks finding their Hedman in this yearā€™s draft almost as appealing as finding their Draisitl for this Hawks fan. Is Korchinski a #1 D-man? Not so confident.

  22. He was not said to be given an additional 6 weeks. Hes still on the initial 6-8 weeks. you misunderstood what Richardson said.

  23. Lucas Reichel is supposed too be that player but with the current "system" their playing they won't let him utilize his speed. Same play every time get in the offensive zone, stop, look for someone to ditch to. He need to get in the zone with speed and cut in to the net. Hawks are NOT being coached well, the system is a joke and even on the power play they just stand around, every thing they do is along the boards, easy to defend, new coach needed. As for getting Bedard help, no worries, in a couple years just as his prime is about to take off the Hawks will trade him for for picks and older players, just look at the last ten years.
