  1. I remember when Edmonton fell to the #4 pick. Nobody thought PoolParty would still be available at #4 and I was posting that they should try to trade down 2 or 3 spots if they could pick up a serviceable D and then draft Chychrun.

Everybody was surprised to see Chychrun fall to the 17th pick. Even then the scouts knew the guy was a defensive disaster and nothing has changed since. In fact he might even be worse now that he's looking to pad his stats for his next contract.

Also watch tonight to see how many times he misses the net with his shot. I'm writing this at 6pm so it's not like I've already seen the game but it's what he's been doing for quite some time now. He's not interested in getting an assist because somebody tipped in one of his shots or banged home a rebound. Chychrun wants goals so he aims for the puck sized opening at the top of the net hoping to blast one in. When it works it looks great but mostly it just ends up being a turnover.

Jason makes sense when he says not to mess with the D until you get your RD sorted and I tend to agree. There's no rush; but if some real contender found themselves in desperate need of a good LD at the deadline, maybe because of injury, and made an offer the Sens couldn't refuse I'd be fine with that.

Later this year I'd like to see a bit of Guenette and Kleven. Right now management just wants to get them winning.

  2. Man this pod is REALLY finding its stride, so happy to have been along for the ride so far. So excited for more of this 😍

  3. 28:25 that's because he was drinking pre and post-liver transplant that he campaigned for and got bumped up the list only to waste the donation he received. That's just one of MANY reasons opinions differ on Euge.
