NJ Devils Michael McLeod & Cal Foote OUT INDEFINITELY

New Jersey Devils players Michael McLeod and Cal Foote have taken a leave of absence from the team to deal with personal issues.

Those personal issues are of a legal nature, stemming from an incident(s) during the 2018 World Junior Championships.

The injury decimated Devils are now down *2 more* players.

When it rains, it pours…

I discuss all of this in this video.

  1. As much as this really sucks for our beloved team, that comes a distant second to the gravity of the crime and the victim. The press conference happening yesterday was no coincidence. It was to avoid fielding live questions on this issue less than 24 hours before it dropped. I'm extremely disappointed and angry with our organization, and how this is being handled. I get they won't address much bc it's a legal issue – but SA has no place in our sport. I hope, when the time is appropriate, we get the right responses from our organization and that it's handled correctly. But as of right now, I'm extremely disappointed for many reasons and with many people. LGD

  2. Honestly, I would say just punt the season at this point. We are 4 points back behind Carolina for the final wildcard spot (Detroit and Toronto in front of us), we play Carolina tomorrow too. Too many injuries right now and personally, I wouldn't trade out of desperation at this point either. Id see how we do the rest of the year, let some of the boys heal up to 100% and then look at goalies in the offseason unless we pick up one during the deadline and ride it out the rest of the year.

  3. I don't mind them making moves this season that make sense for seasons to come but to make moves for this year is not smart..it's not our year..if you weren't convinced with all the injuries this year, with what happened today should have you convinced

  4. We're all saints this season for the amount of CRAP we've had to tolerate from this team this season but that's what it means to love a team so much

  5. Both Ondrej Palat & Colin Miller were back to practicing today.

I have no clue what to make of this news without more facts. The London Police announced that they will be holding a live press conference on February 5th to provide an update regarding the allegations, and it will be Live Streamed on Facebook.

  6. if the rape related shit happened how are they gonna prove it after 6 years?🤣 boys and girl(s) just had fun🤭

  7. It's just a lot all at once. I knew about the 2018 world junior team, but somehow missed who was involved so that was a big shock this morning.

  8. I agree even before the injuries they need to trade for a defenseman. Hamilton seganthaler and Marino have all had mediocre seasons at best . Losing graves didn’t help us we traded Timos offense for defense literally . Now we need a trade for one . The Mcloud news is so disappointing.

  9. Well, now I'm 100% convinced this is a cursed season. Either to injuries or the justice system, we can't seem to stop losing Devils, or should I say Devets, or at this point Demets.

I'm not going to pretend like our season is more important than bringing justice for the scandal, but man this may be the worst time for this to happen, especially as McLeod was heating up. I wasn't really paying attention to hockey at the time, so I don't want take a side without looking into it more, but hopefully people remember "innocent until proven guilty" despite the tarnish this'll inevitably bring regardless.

  10. regarldless of how the situation plays out I think their NHL careers are OVER. You just recall Voynov case and some other NHL players like Mitchel Miller, Leipsic etc. NHL would not tolerate the slightest of this shit. There will be no way back into NHL for the players in question. They will be heading to the KHL if avoiding the Canadian jail
