Dubas is a terrible GM. Claims to be analytics led (I guess his credentials is he wears glasses), yet always makes the trade a 13 year old would make: always the biggest, splashiest free agent, for insane money, and always loading up on offence. Never once has he made a hard decision – he always just loads up the same thing and expects a different result. He did it with the maple leafs. And now the penguins.
Surely the luckiest man in professional sports. Plucked out of no where, gifted good prospects and a vast budget, and because he can fit in corporate circles he gets corporate jobs. No track record at all.
they have not won a playoff series since 2018, Crosby is still as elite as anyone, and his team still may very well not make the playoffs again. that window was slammed shut years ago
there is no way Jake is traded. just no way. He has been Sid's best winger since Sid came into the league. he is a 20 goal scorer season and season out and really has a unique chemistry with sid. If anything I can see Riley smith or Bryan rust or even a goaltender be traded. I just don't see Jake being trade for how good he's been with Sid. Sure money and winning talks at the end of the year. But if it was me. I would take a pay cut to continue to produce and play with Sidney Crosby.
Okay – let's listen to find out what's not going to happen and what someone should not to do at winter trade.

I'm a Wings fan, so of course with the current standings situation, I'd rather see the Pens be sellers, but that said, they're still very much in the race, so I think they should be buyers for the sake of their vets who still have what it takes to win and deserve that opportunity and probably would want to do it with the team they've spent their entire careers with.

Kyle Dubas sucks. Toronto is handcuffed to the contracts situation he started and their draft pick cupboard is bare.
