Most of our goals have been against the first and fourth line it seems. Pospisil and Zary are +9 and +13

Cause he’s Blake fucking Coleman

Michael Backlund.

Because he can get points without the need of some elite setup man . Gets the grease and can get back defensively .
Every-Citron1998
Because he’s an absolute beast who goes full throttle on forecheck, backcheck, and driving the net.
Also helped he got a full offseason to recover from nagging injuries after playing 10 playoff rounds his previous three seasons.

I’d imagine it has a lot to do with him shooting the lights out and his line consisting of the Flames’ best defensive forwards. They don’t really give up a lot, so with Coalman scoring so much, it’s a good environment.

Coleman shows up for every game. He is the most consistent Flames player by a wide margin. Last season he (and to a lesser degree Backlund) came to play every game. But Coleman was the only player who didn’t look depressed and defeated. Not even once. He was the main reason I still watched every game last season and this one too.
People like him are rare and have a gift the rest of us can only admire. And karma is real. He’s earned it.

Remember when Toffoli was our top scorer on a mid team? They are good players and good for them but it’s not a great sign when a middle 6 guy is your top producer.

He gives a shit. All the time.

The Backlund bump is a thing
rhythmmchn
He makes sure he’s off the ice when the opponent takes their first shot. After that, he’s golden.
