With their top end collective hockey talent and hockey IQ (Letang begrudgingly included) you'd think it would be easy for them to adjust. But maybe they are like a difficult breed of dog whose behavior you can't greatly modify from what they instinctually are driven to do. What got them to this position in their careers is about all they can do. The Pens need a master trainer and Sullivan doesn't fit the bill. Maybe Dubas can teach this collective old dog of a team a new trick with a crack of the personnel whip, but I doubt it.
Here we go again. The powerplay and the lack of goal scoring is actually the biggest problem on the team, not defending lol.
What is the team worried about losing by changing the coach again? Cuz the team's about to miss with Sullivan, just like last year.
Cowards. Try something first, before accepting failure so easily.
Bring Phil Kessel back … at least he has sand in his britches (not that he’d throw it around!)
Its the next man up mentality what they should be constantly aiming for. I dont even mean callups either I mean your linemates. You see it when they are ultra successful and all the way back to the successful powerplays of years back. They arent doing it the way they should as much as they should. If you watch enough you should know exactly what Im talking about.

Penguin puzzle continues to frustrate players, fans, management and media. PLEASE win these 2 games and return "refreshed" after the All-Star break with a better attitude.
The Trend line is still positive. That 7 goal lost to Tampa was the turning point. The Vegas loss was in the third period, which I'd rather lose then than in the first five minutes of the game we've had recently. The AZ game, it was just a blue moon own goal kind of night. … The team effort towards team d looks much improved imo. As for Geno, well, I've ask my favorite shaman healer to breath back greatness into his game, healing, childlike joy and love back to him. … This weekend will be the final big telling of if we actually have got something to be excited about post season… and if officially flat-lined to mediocrity.
… just a quick shot… i think the fans have lost what Their Role is one the team. Weve got to do our part, to make Hockey Fun again. We can trade players as if thats the problem, but its not like the fans are innocent bystanders. … lets pick up our attitudes, bring back the playfulness and Unconditional support for the players!!!
I wonder if there is a way to gauge/evaluate the most erratic team in league history. If so, we might be a candidate.
I hate to be the one to put it out there and jinx anything (like DK likes to do with his "elite goaltending" comments), so everyone quickly go find a real piece of wood to knock on, but if Sid goes down to significant injury at any point, they might as well put a big blue light above PPG Arena and entertain best offers for the remaining players. He's been their healthiest player for over a season and a half, not missing a game since April 9th 2022, and clearly their best player during this time as well. Even with that all they can manage is 12th place in the East? Unlike in the past, I don't see Geno ever putting on the cape again and carrying the team in his absence. Without Crosby they will become the very definition of up 5h!t creek without a paddle.
I kinda get the feeling Karlsson has some frustration about something…either the coaching or a plaver/players he's playing with. Or maybe he invisioned something different about playing here & it's not what he expected.

Conservation really seems to hit the spot. There are so many things that influences a player to continuously play at their best. Everybody else is. I wish they would get mad at losing, rather than accepting an eventual loss. It just drives me nuts when a not so good team beats them, then they cream a really good team. Sorry for the rant. I'm preaching to the choir. LGP!
This team reminds me of the Peter Gibbons quote from Office Space … "But you know, Bob, that will only make someone work just hard enough not to get fired.
With the exception of Crosby and "maybe" one or two others … all these guys from Carter and Harkins and Acciari on up to Karlsson and Malkin and Rakell will have the occasional strong period and sometimes even the strong game, then Sullivan praises them in the press conference, and that buys them 2-3 games where they can float around and take it easy. Then everyone gets down on them, so they go out and have a strong game (see Seattle last week), and they get praised again. Then they can go take a couple games off again. And you just rinse and repeat this scenario over 45 games.
This is not my penguins. Not my Pittsburgh penguins. From the top down am I missing something. DK dose the to brass have the same plans as is the fans do. Another cup at least a team that can entertain and compete. This ant it.
There needs to be some sort of shake-up in the lines coaching staff to get this team going there's too much talent on this team to waste
Sid may not be the one to say anything about another player or players. But someone needs to step up and say something to get these guys going.
