We just witnessed NHL history

Sam Gagner is one of 2 players in NHL history to record an 8 point night. 4 goals 4 assists. He did this with the Oilers 11 years ago and was the 1st, 2nd and 3rd star that night. A few years later, In the 2016/17 season, we saw Gagner now with the Columbus Blue Jackets go on an absolute tear, winning 16 consecutive games in a row. The 2nd most all time just 1 short of the Penguins record of 17. Noteworthy here, is that 16th game came against the Edmonton oilers in a 3-1 victory. How ironic that now, 7 years later and back with Edmonton, he had another shot at NHL history.

The Oilers themselves are on a heater and had won 13 in a row coming into last nights matchup with a chance to make it 14 against – none other than Gagner’s former club the Columbus Blue Jackets. Funny how things can play out but after taking this one 4-1, the Oilers in fact had won 14 in a row with Sam Gagner becoming the first player in NHL history to be a part of not 1 but now 2 14 game winning streaks with 2 different NHL clubs. Stuart Skinner also notably passed Grant Fuhr for a franchise record 11 consecutive wins! It was a historic night in Edmonton and I cover it all in todays NHL video!

  1. It's funny that some 2 months ago everybody was hating the Oilers for being trash (not my words), and now they are on W14 streak

  2. Considering after he left the Edmonton Oilers his point production went down and considering his point production has been going back up since being back with them to the Oilers it is safe to say he was meant to be an Oiler and he was never meant to leave and I would personally like to thank him for his years as a Vancouver Canuck because my first ever hockey game I saw him score his first goal as a Vancouver Canucks and he was one of my favorite players in Edmonton so that made probably my decade

  3. They gave him 8 points, but he earned 7. There was a phantom assist where he never made contact with the puck. I refuse to give him credit for being in the 8 point club.

  4. If I had a dollar for every time “witnessing NHL history” was used as a video title this season, I wouldn’t be a rich man but I’d definitely have a good bit of cash.

It’s never anything good either, it’s always something like “Kirill Kaprizov is the first player ever named Kirill to get 3 points 3 games in a row.”

It’s like the NHL equivalent to when every single mainstream media outlet has “BREAKING NEWS”, you’re expecting another 9/11 but instead they tell you the Boston Red Sox head coach resigned or some shit

  5. Straight up, the oilers coach is crazy, as a ranger fan I remember he coached 2 games back in 2021 since the main staff was out w Covid, and those 2 games he coached were a 9-0 win and a 7-1 win

  6. Wow. I don't remember him playing like that in Philly. But to be fair..to be fair. To be fairrrr. He was young and developing. And maybe there could only be room for 1 Gagne. It's always good to see a former flyer do well

  7. What is up with Elvis retreating to within his net? Has he always done this? We saw it like 3 or 4 times in this video alone. I've heard people say "stay in the net" but that is ridiculous.

  8. A year before Gagner was a London Knight, Corey Perry led the Knights to a 31 game unbeaten streak, a CHL record……maybe some good vibes are coming.

  9. Chicago is worst in the league. Watch in playoffs, again, neutralize McDavids line they are out, unless they get miraculous goaltending, every game. Wont get past first round, more head scratching.

  10. Gnager gets 16 against Edmonton has a Blue Jacket then gets 14 against the Blue Jackets as an Oiler. lol cool.
