Hockey Talks 💚 Player’s Stories

With the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Lightning Foundation set to host their fourth Hockey Talks Night this Thursday against the Arizona Coyotes, a few players were kind enough to sit down and share their stories regarding mental health. The night is dedicated to raising awareness and helping end the stigma around mental health.

  2. This is such an important video and I love how vulnerable our guys are being about their stories to help others. Especially knowing men and even NHL pros go through mental health issues. It’s ok to be not ok…?as long as you talk to someone about it. Getting help is a sign of strength not weakness. No matter who you are. Thank you guys for sharing your stories! 💙💙⚡️⚡️♥️🙏🏻

  3. I know big pharma gives the Lightning a lot of money so this post might get deleted but I'm going to practice some free speech here. You never know what the person next to you is going through and having that open communication is vital. Friendship is very underrated these days. I STRONGLY disagree with psychiatrists and doctors dishing out pills like it's candy the moment someone says they are sad and/or depressed. My wife was given psychiatric drugs when she was 14 years old because she voiced that she was sad about some things in her life. The psychiatrist perscribed her antidepressants on her first visit, and increased the dosage every year for over 7 years as the solution. When she was in college, she realized as an adult how dependent her brain was to these drugs. If she went 2 days without taking the antidepressants, she would have MAJOR side effects similar to side effects of weaning off illegal drugs. Just take a look at the side effects online with these drugs, it's insane. She's off the drugs today and she's better than ever. These psychiatric drugs are a SHORT TERM solution and should be carefully reserved for individuals that are potentially suicidal. I'm all for mental health, it gets the attention it deserves, but big pharma needs to get a grip on it's drug distribution.
