  1. Slaffy taffy is better at puck battles along the boards, he’s using his size to his advantage and creates great plays sadly no one can finish

  2. We already have newhook which is a similar player to Cooley and he got injured . Small players get to get injured way too easily

  3. Who is the besr current player in the draft? Slafkofsky. Who has the most development ahead of them? Slafkofsky. Therefor who is the best player in the draft? Slafkofsky. You look at big players in the past. Hedman. Thornton. Thompson. Rantennen even Gordie Howe took a pretty long time to be considered possible HHOFers.

  4. Omph, scouch you trended right on lambert but slaf is gonna throw your whole model in question his acceleration is through the roof recently

  5. Yeah cooley do better spin ok but if juraj stars winnins 90% of is board battle he is gonna be much more important in the hockey game….he as the potential to be a rare type of nhl players

  6. One good body check from Slafkovsky and Cooley is out for the season, lol. Cooley has better hands, no doubt. Just not comparable players.

  7. Who would you guys have drafted ? Was a bad year. Thats why the first isnt a star, no one in this draft is.

  8. I think with a couple more seasons Slaf will become a solid #2 center and with his size he is the sorta guy that can be a gamebreaker in the playoffs.

If people expected him to be a Bedard or McDavid they will ve disappointed but as a strong piece of Montreal's core (with Suzuki, Caufield etc) he's gonna be great

  9. You guys are ok to say your opinion but have no clue what slafkovsky can do when yku compare him with cooley… you will learn it soon

  10. Slaf has more goals and has been playing better lately… I always wanted Montreal to draft Slaf it was him or Cutter Gauthier for me but I always knew Cooley may have the edge offensively but to be completely honest now I think Slaf may be just as good if not better offensively… He uses his body more effectively, He never loses puck battles, has great speed for a kid his size, compete level off the charts etc… I use to think Cooley would be better offensively than Slaf in their primes but now I think Slaf may be just as good if not better and have a bigger impact
On a game, Slaf can do things Cooley cannot and if Slaf puts those things together he may score more points than Cooley… Slaf was the right pick for Montreal, We needed a power forward and Slaf in my opinion may be the best player from that draft as of now he is and If he’s not in the future, Lane Hutson may be up there as well sooo I think Montreal killed the 2022 draft… I could easily see Slaf, Hutson and Cooley being in the top 5 of best players from the 2022 draft….

  11. Cooley and Slafkovsky are two completely different players. Cooley is 5’10” 174lbs. Slafkovsky is 6’3” 230lbs. He’s almost 60LBS heavier. They play completely different games. If Slafkovsky hits even 75% what he is expected to be he will have a bigger impact in the only games that matter. Playoff games! Cooley is a small flashy player, they tend to struggle more on the playoffs (not always but their impact is usually much smaller).

  12. Slaf still needs to learn to play at the NHL level. Montreal did him a disservice not giving him more time to develop in the minors. Hopefully he can survive all the massive hits he takes periodically and get to that higher level…

  13. What's better for a team to get wins?

a guy who can steal the puck, protect it against 2 players to pass to a teammate resulting in a goal

or a guy trying to deke his way in the o zone thinking it will work every time as if he's mcdavid and lose the puck, creating a turnover?

  14. Ah yes highlight reels is how you judge a hockey player and hockey game when you don’t know anything about hockey.

  15. Slavkosky is fn terrible.
Anyone who thinks differently don't know hockey.
He will never score more than 10 – 15 per year and he will limit his linemates output dye to his turnovers.
Wtf do you think Suzuki and Caulfield were doing nothing?
