On Wednesday, Smith Entertainment Group, owners of the Utah Jazz, asked the NHL to “initiate an expansion process” to bring the team to the state. They also stated that they have an arena that is ready to house a team. From this, many people ran with the idea that this meant the Coyotes could relocate to Salt Lake City. Craig Morgan addressed these rumors as well as the comments by NHLPA director Marty Walsh regarding the Coyotes’ search for a home for a permanent arena.
