Brad Marchand on OT Winner in Bruins vs Senators | Postgame Interview

I can you take us through that overtime uh yeah say sway made a a great save um kind of bounced to the wall there and uh C’s did a great job kind of getting an ice and getting it over early so I had enough time to make a play um

That D kind of looked like he tried to fake Bluff My Fake Bluff me a little bit and um backed off gave me the shot and you know luckily went in was it the end of a shift too you kind of out of gas a little bit yeah we had been out there

For a while um you know we we had an ozone shift CC had had the puck for a while and um you know back in our zone for a little bit so yeah end of a shift end of a a long game and back to back um

You know so feels good to get that one this just indic a bit of the resilience from this team where you you’re up to nothing but then they come back and tie it up late and they still manage to pull it out yeah you know they’re games that

You need to learn how to uh win um going on the stretch every team’s playing well even you know they’re better than what their record is um you know they’re playing really good right now and um you know to you know going in playoffs you

Have to be able to win games that are close and every team when they get down is they claw back you know they don’t have nothing to lose at that point they pick up their energy you know when you’re up kind of sit back a little bit

Um you know so you have to be able to you know play on that momentum and and uh battle through that uh we had a lot of adversity tonight so I I like the way that we responded to that uh you know we didn’t give up and when they came back

And uh so it’s a good win there’s definitely some things that we need to do better and and uh some areas weren’t cre in but uh you know overall was a good one for us I know guys are looking forward to the break but will there be

An extra emphasis on finishing the first half strong on Saturday after yeah you know I you want to go into the break on a good note but you know it’s just focusing on on on the day-to-day process and it’s something we talk a lot about

Um you know the break is after the next game it’s not a second before that and uh you know part of our job being a a good team and being good Pros is making sure that we show up and we come ready to compete um Philly is an extremely

Tough team to play and they’re building they’re playing a hard game of hockey right now and uh they’re playing well so you know if we take them lightly and at any point uh they’re going to roll over us so uh we do have to make sure we’re

Prepared and uh get a good day of rest tomorrow and uh be ready to play on Saturday kind of answered this last night but sole possession in fifth place in the bees all time goals list now what does that mean to you it’s special um

You know I I I try not to think too much about it but it is special uh I never thought that my career would come this far and and uh you know some of the things that have gone on would have happened uh I’ve been extremely

Fortunate and and very lucky to be part of a a group that’s had a lot of success and a lot of phenomenal guys to learn from um you know and that that starts with previous generations and um you know the guys that have built the culture here that you want to come in

And be part of and and uh you know you learn to buy in and um it allows everyone to have success and that’s one of the things you learned very early here is that uh you come in and you buy in you do the right things and You’ be

Part of winning team and winning culture um it’s fun to come to the rink every day you have a lot of success for you know throughout the lineup and um you know it is something I’m very proud of but I just don’t get caught up in it

Because I feel like I have a lot of time left and and at the end of the day when I retire and I hang them up then you know maybe I’ll look back and see what’s you know what’s been accomplished but um the goal every year is not to win

Certain scoring stats it’s about you know winning the last game and uh you know it’s part of the process but uh when you just sit back and look at it it’s special and um I do feel very fortunate sometimes when guys make history and are on list like that it’s

Passing guys that they’ve never seen play in older Generations but you know a lot of the guys that are on that list does that make it even more special to you it does you know because I grew up a Iz in them and and uh um you know

Idolize the way I’ve got as I’ve gotten to know them uh the way that they carry themself the the Legacy that they’ve left um you know how important it is for them to continue to uh be part of the organization and try to give back and

Teach the young guys and um you know just some of the conversation I’ve had with some of those guys uh speaks volumes to who they are as people and and just what makes them good leaders and and great players and uh you can see the the Competitive Edge that they have

When you speak to them and they speak about the way they played and and their experiences and um you know so to be able to sit there and talk with these guys and and and see their names on the list and you know I obviously coming in

Here you you know all those guys and you see what they’ve done and and what they’ve left behind and um you don’t ever imagine yourself when you walked into an organization like this being being in the those conversations or on those lists and um so yeah it is special

To see but again it’s just because I’ve been when you’re fortunate enough to be part of great teams

OTTAWA — Brad Marchand, reflecting on his achievement of securing the 5th spot on the Boston Bruins’ all-time goals list, shared, “I try not to think too much about it, but it is special. I never thought that my career would come this far…I’ve been extremely fortunate to be part of a group that’s had so much success.” This statement underscores his humility and appreciation for the team’s collective success throughout his career.

  1. Marshy is wearing that C like a true captain. Such a great season for him. The Pasta, Coyle ,Marshy line is 🔥.. Go 🐻🏆🏒🥅

  2. it boggles my mind how terrible the officiating is. it is over the top bad. burns destroys JD with a cross check and nothing is called. a night later a crosscheck is called and it wasnt even a crosscheck. the tripping on pasta and freddy were beyond terrible.
