These are rather predictable. I’m consistently bewildered by how safe this franchise plays one of the best team names in sports.
The standard logo is perfect. No notes. But for a special event, why not task a real risk? What would it take to have an actual depiction of a devil on there? The options could be endless.

I thought I was going to hate the Devils logo without the circle. (The scarf leak months ago looks horrible.)
But, this is pretty okay. My expectations were low, and this beat those expectations.
I don’t think this immediately slots in as a “must buy” type of jersey. (For now the only jersey I need is a RR1.0, which’ll never happen.) But, could/would this be something I buy on sale a few months from now? 100%. (And if they sell out before I get one, I won’t be *too* upset.)

Not what I would have personally wanted, however, I will say they did a great job with it compared to what I was expecting. I would have lost it if it was some lazy design with “Devils” on it instead of the logo.

Basically the same design that’s been floating around that people were speculating but I like them. Could’ve done more with it tho tbh. Flyers and Rangers are basically the same jerseys as their away ones, the isles one flat out sucks.

I always thought the logo looked better without the circle behind it, so this is a welcome sight.
Also, why does the NHL insist on using models in street clothes to showcase the jerseys? I want to see what the hockey players look like in them, not some dudes from Soho. The pants, socks, and helmet are a part of the uniform too.

“These could have been so much worse!” is not a good take when it comes to releasing a jersey, but these actually aren’t bad. The red and black is a great combination.
Look at the parallel Rangers and Islanders jerseys. Following their example, ours very well could have said “NJD” or “DEVS”.
The Flyers jerseys don’t look all that different from their regular sweaters, and that’s a good thing. At least isn’t not a diagonal “PHILLY”.
We might get embarrassed on a national stage, but at least we’re going to look good doing it.

– From a functionality standpoint, I totally understand the need for larger details ie the logo, numbers and minimal striping needed for larger venues.
– Give them credit for going for a slight variation with the stripped back logo. I love our NJ but I’m also open to variations and even new logos.
– interested to see the full uniform. Socks will probably have solid black striping like the sleeves, but will be interesting to see what colors the helmet and pants are. I don’t think chrome red helmets work here because the jerseys are so minimal with the flat color.
– For one outdoor game, and a few home games for the next couple years, they’re fine.
