Frank Seravalli on Canucks trade targets (Lindholm, Henrique, Monahan, Giroux, Crouse & Tarasenko)

Frank Seravalli from Daily Faceoff drops by with his fingers on the pulse of the trade market, just as the possibility of an early strike from the Canucks looks a little less likely. Plus, Frank weighs in on the big NHL stories regarding the 2018 World Jrs and the possibility of the Coyotes moving to Salt Lake City.

  1. Ffs, dont mortgage the future. Even cup champions usually need to fail in the playoffs. Their window is just opening, and they need elc to offset oel penalty.

  2. Frank is right, this squad has almost no playoff experience. It's more likely they will need 1 or 2 years of playoff experience before they're ready to be true contenders. There's always a chance, but selling the future for just this year would be a mistake.

  3. Frank keeps saying the Avs didnā€™t trade their 1st when they won. They traded it for Kuemper in the off-season.

  4. Add 2c for next 3-5 years and then you can keep lotto line together long term. I agree this is an initiation year, not a cup run year . Anything beyond round 1 is wishful thinking.

  5. Vancouver almost made the conference finals in the bubble. Frank's memory deceives him. They have already achieved more than those "cup contending" leafs have. Facts.

  6. Do you thinking the Canucks would be interested in Ryan Hartman or Boone Jenner? I think the term and their stature would look pretty attractive to aquire.

  7. Has anyone seen Lindholm play recently? He has 0 goals his last 15 games, just 1 goal his last 24 games, on pace for 14. Explain to me why we'd give up big assets for a rental that's been invisible lately.

  8. I think Vancouver's 'window' is up when the Hughes contract ends, which is three more years after this. I would imagine Hughes might be interested in joining his brothers after that, and he can name is price too. Let's face it: He's a generational talent, and he's the superstar Dman the Canucks have never had. Also, in a few more years, Miller's best days will be behind him too… so the next few years are it. If they keep the core together, they got a few shots at that elusive Stanley Cup. The only other problem is that the Oilers are in the same boat. McDavid has two more years after this one, so there's a good chance he'll be moving on after that…

  9. Damn, I would never hire Frank to competing organization. Sure Vans new to the playoffs (after many many moons) but, the construction is on point. Just because youā€™re entering the playoffs after many years, does not mean you canā€™t hoist the Stanley. A similarity to the Vegas build, why not go for it?
