   In 2018, we needed a team around the core 3. That includes hyman and kadri. We really didn't need JT at 11 million.
   shanahan ana kyle just blew there opportunity at a cup with three generational players. sad for us fans and i don't care about 60 goal seasons.

   think about this. kyle makes 4 big trades pre playoffs last year and the core decided not to show up in game 4 vs TB and game 4 vs FLA. shocking stuff.

   For 57 years the Leafs have been looking for the Cup. Nothing .despite how many coaches, GM,s, Presidents etc? 32 other teams looking for the same thing. They have no bloody defence except Reilly. THAT is the problem -not the core 4.

    Sid’s right about a lot of things here. Especially how Marner is constantly complaining about the fans and the media. That’s totally unprofessional and shows a level of immaturity that no 27 year old should have. It speaks to an overindulged, narcissistic attitude that is all about him and not the team or what HE needs to do to come through when it counts for their loyal fanbase that pay his salary. It’s a symbol of a dysfunctional leadership group and lack of accountability from management.

    Keefe isn’t a winner and that won’t win anything with him as coach. Him and Dubas are both losers. Dubas hiring was a huge huge mistake. This ultimately cost them and history is proving it. These guys overpayed Nylander and since signing new contract he’s done nothing.

    The leafs have shot themselves in the foot over and over since the Tavares signing. They shouldve spent his money on good defensmen and let Nylander Matthews and Marner develop as a core with reilly and another shutdown defensmen or two Maybe would have had better goalies too.Also wouldve been able to keep hyman. theres been a steady decline in team play cause the core four are treated differently. Lots of guys who leave discuss this a certain amount now they swim in a sea mediocrity with poor trades and draft picks giveaways for low talent under working players who show little to no motivation. no hard checking….Keefe doesnt know how or where to use enforcers…

    I said the moment MLSE announced the hiring of a CEO taking effect in April that this was going to be the end of how things were done in the past. Look to see a new direction this summer. Some key pieces to watch: Shanny, Marner, Keefe, JT. Miracles do happen in the playoffs, but with this current roster, it will take a miracle. We have some good pieces to build from, but some VERY BAD contracts that hamstring us from building a bonafide cup contender.

    The Leafs can hire whoever they want to run the team, nothing will change. Until they are owned by an individual, not a faceless corporation, they will continue to flounder. Too many cooks, and they're all told that the aim of the game is earning money.
