    Booooooooo.

I think it’s a custom to boo Mr. Bettman whether you mean it or not.

And in his tenure the owners makes stupid amounts of money while the rest of us get fucked. Gary is a true American hero

  3. Boomer generation: “We will give up power when you pry it from our cold dead hands.” And burn the place to the ground on their way out.

  4. That sucks for the NHL. Literally a nutless monkey could do a better job, but they get stuck with that record setting turd.

  5. enorytyyc

And the league is almost as good as when he took it over.

  6. New_Calligrapher6581

idk how or why he is still working for the NHL

  7. NorthboundUrsine

I wish I could be completely inept and not have to worry about losing my job.

From what I’ve read, NBA revenues were half of what the NHL was when he took over. Now the NBA is twice as high as the NHL (10.8bil vs 5.7bil). NBA grew 4x faster than NHL during his tenure. David Stern and Adam Silver made the NBA owners money, Bettman comparatively did not. Even judging him purely on the ‘he made the owners money’ scale, he is bad. And everyone hates him.

They’re writing about it as if it’s a good thing.

Keeping Canada Stanley Cup-Free for 31 years 🤭

  11. Olipod2002

He did deliver his first Stanley Cup of his tenure to the Habs in 1993, but after that, not a single Canadian team won the Cup. Fuck Bettman

  12. RedditCanadaa

And he’s been miserable and pissy every single day of his tenure.

I’m not anti-Bettman but I do wish they had a cap on service, similar to political office. maybe make it 10 years max.

Looks like someone is getting a bowl named after him.

  15. RidiculousPapaya

It would be pretty cool if he retired. I’m anxiously awaiting the future of the NHL. Hopefully, the next guy wants to actually grow the game.

Such a complete assclown. 3 lockouts during his tenure, putting teams where they shouldn’t be. Only good thing I think he’s ever done was help out Vancouver and Calgary I believe with revenue sharing

  17. SillySymphonyIV

Asshole ran out of ideas to make money. Now we have to watch gambling ads all throughout the game. Spineless pos.

  18. Stonewall30NY

Completely undeservedly so I might add. NHL is the worst at marketing itself, worst at growing the sport, had the most lock outs and still had a lot of sex abuse scandals swept under the rug under his reign

  19. How awesome would it be if a Canadian team finally won the cup again this year? I’m sure Bettman would love that.

My dad and his friend nicknamed Bettman “the poison dwarf” many years ago.

They are both sadly spinning in their graves right now.

In 31 years, the NHL has definitely gone downhill. Maybe it’s time for a change!
