New York Islanders Name Patrick Roy New Head Coach

Lou Lamoriello and the New York Islanders announced today that Lane Lambert has been relieved of his duties and that Patrick Roy has been named the head coach of the hockey club.

After a good start to the year, the Islanders have been in a tailspin falling down the standings. They’ve struggled to defend and often don’t get enough goal support. Will this coaching move turn their season around?

  1. It's a start. The Islanders need a lot more than a coach. Lou should be relieved of his duties at the end of the season barring a repeat of the "Miracle on Ice" of 1980.

  2. ROY IS ON THE ISLAND! Hopefully he can help light a fire under these guys' asses, and keep our goaltenders a little more safe. Less overall shots against and more from the outside. LGI
