  1. The nhl didnt really think possible expansion for Salt Lake would overshadow this team Canada/sex assault case-come on now. Are you really saying they thought the media would ignore this story to obsess over Salt Lake City-what are you smoking? The league would be full of idiots if they really thought that.

  2. Bettman could possibly also suspend the players charged, if they are playing in the NHL pending the court trial outcome.

  3. You mean to tell me that there was no meeting with the players before the season warning them of the dangers of misconduct behavior and how this can destroy careers. Amateur hour again at Team Canada – get some people who have some brains to run this team.

  4. Before we bury these guys under the jail, an accusation is not a conviction. Just google the name Matt Araiza and see how a professional athlete's career can been ruin by an accusation!

  5. And I thought the Catholic Church ran a tight organization. What is going on with the NHL? It is like any improprieties get swept under the rug for as long as possible. This allegedly happened in 2018. The NHL is becoming the number one secret society.

  6. This really does. My heart is broken thinking hart could be apart of this. He always seemed like he's a good guy. This just blows my mind. They're good looking guys. They shouldn't have to be slimy. But I don't know what really happened. I wasn't there. So I can't speculate until I know more

  7. This will be a lose, lose, lose situation. The players lose, their teams lose, hockey's reputation loses. The victim, who will gain nothing but will endure hours defending her reputation and be peppered, embarrassed and badgered on the witness stand, will lose. She likely just hoped she could walk away with the civil settlement and be done with it. Families will be embarrassed and dreams shattered. What a mess! Oh well, maybe some beer league team in Albania will get a star player over it!

  8. Someone with more knowledge on the Canadian legal system tell me if I'm wrong. If charges are pressed, which it sounds inevitable for at least some if not all of them, I don't think the players are allowed to leave the country. Wouldn't they be considered fugitives if they did? Also, I don't think the US would let them in the country while charges are pending. So I don't think the NHL would even have to make a call at all. The players wouldn't be allowed to return to their teams.

  9. Let’s not forget London police dismissed this whole thing when it happened, this is only in the air because Rick westhead got involved. They are probably done investigation and the players are coming to face their charges already plead by their lawyers. Only 5 of 8 involved were called in, so probably those who are facing charges

  10. Pathetic…. throw the book at them. We know nothing will happen, two tier judicial system exists in both USA and Canada, but in a just world, they'd have the book thrown at them
