These games really give you some perspective on how much impact bedard has had as a rookie. The hawks are averaging under 1.5 goals a game since bedard has been hurt. To put it into perspective, the sharks have the lowest goals per game at 2.1. All our decent but not great players (the ones that aren’t out for the season) are getting exposed when they have to play against top d lines. Bedard was like a magnet drawing all the attention and at least opening up some opportunities, but this is just abysmal right now. It feels like they’re wasting mrazek’s incredible year (not overall stat wise, but if you account for the opposing team having the puck for 90% of the game and our atrocious defense, he’s playing like one of the best goaltenders this year.
