What did he do wrong?

he was outside the paint until it cross checked in, even if your not a leafs fan looking at this play that’s literally a goal

  1. Nothing is the answer. That’s some weak crap from the refs and the decision room.

  2. TheCarrier89

Committed the unforgivable sin of wearing a leaf jersey.

  3. ElDobre97

Laggy 3G wifi in Winnipeg made the replay hard to watch

Start pushing people towards the goalie boys

  5. Interesting that several of the panelists during Sportsnet intermission show agreed with us. Should have been a good goal.

    It feels uncomfortable.

Saw that that goal was not called as such and turned the game off. Clearly the league wants the jets to win this one.

Willy was 100% pushed into the jets goalie. If it were the other way around and a leaf pushed a jet into Sammy it would have been overturned and called a good goal (as it 100% should be)

Outside the crease the entire time, got shoved then cross checked in to Hellebuyck. I honestly can’t come up with any reasons why it was waived.

  8. torontoker13

And still dummies out there in the world saying the league tilts things in torontos favour.
Not only is that a good goal but the d man should be called for cross checking and the refs and decision room looked at it multiple times

Nylander, nothing. The refs and ‘situation room’ – Common Sense and Integrity is Lacking

This kind of garbage makes it hard to remain a fan of the NHL. What is the point in having rules? How am I supposed to get excited about hockey games when it feels like it would just be quicker to ask the refs who the winner is without having a hockey game.

The situation room says that the call on the ice held a lot of weight in the decision… if THAT clip doesn’t overturn an on ice call, then stop doing reviews.

I heard Parros is in charge of the video reviews now too.

Do you guys not see how corrupt and filled with attempts at match fixing the sport is?

Nylander may as well have been selling concessions he was so far away from the goalie.

  13. Dirtbiker250

Yeah that’s totally a goal. We already knew there was goalie interference. That wasn’t the challenge. The challenge was that the interference was because the jets shoved leafs into him. And Even if he wasn’t shoved , there was plenty of recovery time before the goal. That’s a hoorrrrrrible call

  14. disofukso

Guys it’s super simple, he’s wearing a jersey with a maple leaf on the front

  15. Reppotimus

One justification I saw for why they may have called it the way they did is that Willy had a foot in the blue paint before he was pushed into the goalie. Which ultimately is really stupid as that would open the door to pushing any forward with even a foot in the paint into your own goalie whenever possible to avoid a potential goal. They need to sort this out

  16. I saw how this was initially called no goal. My first thought when it went in was no goal. But I don’t get how after the replay it was still no goal.

On the broadcast they mentioned that Willy didn’t go through the crease and got out of the crease right after he got cross checked into Helly. I don’t get why dmen don’t just throw defenders into the crease all the time. It’s always going to be interference.

  17. Ballsahoy72

Without hyperbole, maybe the worst call I’ve seen this year

  18. itaintbirds

Horseshit call. That is 100% a good goal. Seen much worse get allowed. The inconsistency is an embarrassment to the sport.

  19. burningxmaslogs

Nothing.. Glad Kevin and Kelly ripped the NHL for that bad call..

  20. burningxmaslogs

Ref’s are tired of Keefe’s almost perfect record. It was 18/19 nor cause of that bullshit call he’s 18/20 Keefe’s needs so send glasses the NHL HQ to help them see better.

  21. Small-Wolverine-7166

Based on this decision, from now on, the D should just check any attacking player into their goalie whenever they feel offensive pressure.

  22. ColeBelthazorTurner

You know it’s not interference because the Jets didn’t even complain
