That would partially explain his production drop.

Good luck Patrik! Your health is much more important than hockey

  3. danger_otter34

That sucks. He sure is talented, just seems like his career started at the top and has been drifting downhill ever since. I hope he can get himself turned around.

  4. pseudotsuganym

At least it’s not because of the 2018 world juniors…

Fuck is going on with the nhl lately IT SMELL LIKE BITCH IN HERE

It makes sense in terms how a guy can have such ability and not make more of it on the ice. He’s got some other issue that prevents him from having more on ice success. He should be a 40 goal scorer or better on a regular basis.

So many hockey players taking mental leaves this year.

I’m all for it but, why is it more common in hockey?

  8. Addiction doesn’t discriminate. Get some help and get better.

  9. Say hi to the dude from Colorado! Best of luck to you!

  10. Could see his mental health having a pretty downward spiral since his Winnipeg years, hopefully he gets backs on his feet

While this goes against everything I try to practice one day at a time- fuck everyone talking shit about him or anyone else in similar situations.

I’m in recovery for fentanyl (8.7.21) and have my share of horror stories. I can’t imagine how much harder it is to seek/accept help when you have to deal with keyboard warriors and micro-dick reporters talking shit 24/7.

  12. Best of luck to Patrick. I hope he takes care of whatever he needs to take care of

Every player who enters this program will forever be the boy who cried wolf

Dont use mental health to excuse rape. Its kinda weird aye 🇨🇦

It would be easy to be frustrated in his position with all of the injuries he gets. As much as we shame players for caring about individual stats, it would be hard to not get to pad them when you have the goods for as long as you can.

Can’t knock a guy for getting help!! Good luck Patrik.

Probably from living in Winnipeg and Columbus, very bleak and depressing outside of the rink

I hope he gets back to form soon, really gets a lot of crap because he hasn’t hit the numbers he had in 2018, good Luck Laine

Just another player that served it up to bedards mom

  19. Fastsmitty47

There’s been speculation that he has not been mentally right in recent years. Hope he’s okay.

Feel bad for Laine. His dad passing away recently, as well as struggling with injuries. I hope he gets the help he needs. Miss him as a Jet.

I admire these players that are brave and honest enough to admit they’re flawed and publicly take themselves outside of game to get the help they need. Think I’m wrong? Take a citric of yourself and see where your weaknesses are too. It’s not easy, we’re all human. Good luck and get better ✌️🫡

Jackets can’t catch a break, holy shit they had Bob and Panarin and were coached by Tortorella just a few years ago. Hope they can turn it around it’s a very long season

Theo Fleury played through a terrible time in his life. Wish they had this program back in the day. I read his book and it’s just mind boggling.

  24. dandaman2883

Playing in Columbus will take a toll.

But seriously. Hope he finds his way back soon.

I’m not sure we love Sammy G. as a player. He is fast on his skates for sure. He makes too many mistakes in the d zone and the puck seems to jump his stick at the blue line.

True, he seems to be playing better since returning. It is good that he was able to get treatment and work on his demons.

He just isn’t a $5 mil a year blue liner. Malinski has had fewer mistakes in more games this year.
