  1. Tanev is 33, often injured, mid pairing guy on a non-playoff team. He’s ok but please don’t give up a much younger player for a mid defenceman.

  2. Duclair for our depth and PK makes more sense than Barabov is Robertson too much? Perhaps, but now could be the time to win the cup. Good luck Leafs. 🎯

  3. Leafs need two big defensemen , and a proper line 4. Gio and Timmy (L) defenders need to go and we need one or two defensive forwards . We need to lock it down . Time is ticking

  4. In order for the Leafs to be a solid Stanley Cup contender, they need to bolster their d-men with at least 2 big, heavy, and gritty players! A Corey Perry type player would also help the forward depth. GO LEAFS GO!!!!

  5. Nick's ceiling is higher than people think. I don't see him being shipped unless it's urgent like Trevor Moore for Campbell was a few years ago. I was really quite sick over that trade despite absolutely adoring Jack in his short time with us. Trevor has grown into a solid piece for the Kings and in hindsight, obviously wasn't worth it as we lost Jack for nothing and gained nothing during his tenure. Don't ship Robertson, our homegrown pieces that we actually stick with through development and show reliable growth are what we need to hold on to.

  6. LEAFS ASSETS
    -1ST, 3RD,5TH
    -NIEMELA $856K
    -ROBERTSON $796K
    -HOLMBERG $800K
    -TIMMINS $1.1M

    -kampf $2.4m (cap
    -samsonov $3.55m (cap dump)
    -mcmann $762k
    -steeves $834k
    -abruzzese $775k

  7. Sean walker is your best bet. Also if we can get walker and sealer for a half decent deal I think that would solve a lot of problems. I’d get rid of Brodie and probably lily for them for sure

  8. Is it safe to sa after years of fans complaining only the playoffs matter, is exactly what the offseason acquisitions are about?

  9. Tanev would probably be a first line defensive defenseman in Toronto. He can play 20 minutes. He is older and he's only ever played 82 games in a season once. The Leafs however have a built a team that needs a constant influx of goalies, defenseman and secondary forwards. The ones that work out they generally can't afford to resign. See Kadri, Bozak, Andersen, Hyman, Brown, Zaitsev, Marleau, Johnsson,Kapanen, Hainsey, Kerfoot, Mikheyev, Barrie, spezza, Holl, Ceci, Clifford, engvall, Thornton, Simmonds, Galchenyuk, Vesey, Bogosian, Foligno, Campbell, Rittich, Bunting, Kase, Lyubushkin, Mrazek, Ritchie, Acciari, Aston-Reese, Lafferty, Jordie Benn, Malgin, Gustafsson, O'Reilly, Matt Murray, Mete, Luke Schenn. The Leafs are all in and have been for years now. They may have three or four more shots at this with this group though I honestly believe the window has passed for them. That said, you pretty well have to bring in one more defenseman at least and probably another goalie as the injured woll, Jones and Samsonov can't be depended on to win a cup.
Barabanov is the last thing you need . Toronto is full up on Barabanovs.

They would be further ahead to try to add Mario Ferraro. He is 25 and has been the number one defenseman in San Jose since Karlsson left. He was #2 before that. He is locked up for this year and two more at $3.75. This is a guy to give up a first pick one one of those useless prospects for.

  10. I'm a big fan of Sean Walker, but the leafs don't need a Sean Walker type for three months.
They need someone who is better defensively.
