Honestly, I think that New York will get outbid by other team on Monahan. New York won’t want to pay as much for Monahan as their 3rd C as other team that would want Monahan to fix their issues as their 2nd C.
Team like Colorado that play Ross Colton as their 2nd C, or Carolina with KK or Winnipeg with Namestnikov.

> no chance Drury even reaches out
If an NHL GM is letting personal beefs interfere with exploring every option for a trade, he’s not doing his job properly.
I don’t care where Monahan goes, but if I was a NYR fan (and if this is true), I would be pretty peeved

I love how “You hired two person I fired” is Montreal’s wrong.

Rangers’ Front Office sure seem like a contentious bunch.

Agreed. Gorton left & his g-bye message announcement was pure class so Drury was extra pissed also Arthur Staple has covered New York hockey for The Athletic since 2019 so for sure stating facts.

If we could manage to pry Kakko from them I’d be ecstatic

So we’ll be hearing the details in a couple hours then?

Drury a little bitch.

It happens. GMs sometimes have affinities/enmities with certain teams.
In any case, I dont think we’re heading for a bidding war that drags on forever. More likely, interested teams will quickly be filtered depending on Monahan’s preference.

If Drury fired two people he wouldn’t care if someone else hired them. He cannot be that vendictive or petty. I call BS.

I would love nothing more than to see Chris Kreider retire without a cup. I’d hate nothing more than knowing we helped him get a cup by trading Monahan.

If I had to guess, hed be going to a team *like* the Avs, Van, or Edmonton where we have had reasonably good trade relationships in the past.
