  1. As I said a week ago Pickard is good enough to back up Skinner for this season. He is steady and the team plays well in front of him.
He has 3arned the backup job this year

  2. IM happy for YOU. You love your team, Had a rough start , and NOW , your enjoying the GRAVY. GO OIL.

  3. great to get the win. somehow just thought the Stanley Cup Champ.. would look more dominant vs the last team in league ($40m Cap or so..)….. -chi hit post, missed penalty shot etc.. 2 breaks and EDM could have lost.
-seems like the EDM players are 'not all that into it' early in the games?? or that teams like Chi are similar in ability?

  4. The Nashville Predators will be a higher calibre opponent than recent opponents versus the Oilers and will probably be more fun to watch. Go Oilers!😅

  5. Long post follows with base game statistics including some for the Chicago Blackhawks. Read, don't read, up to you. These are BASE stats not detailed ones. My comments and observations at the end.

Oilers Shutout Chicago 3-0 winning their 15th consecutive game. Pickard gets the shutout (and first star) including stopping a penalty shot (yeah it was that kind of a game). McDavid gets 2 goals and an assist (second star), Draisaitl with 3 assists, Hyman gets another goal, you know, business as usual especially as it was 0-0 in the first period, 1-0 for the Oilers after 2 on a powerplay goal then they got 2 more in the 3rd (one of which was an empty netter). Honestly the only reason this wasn't a lot worse for Chicago was Mrazek (who got the 3rd star). Thirteen consecutive games allowing 2 or fewer goals against. Oil keep rolling. Take care all.

  6. Lets not forget that teams will be gunning for the Oilers now, who will be the team that gets to say "we stopped the Oilers historical regular season run"

  7. Pickard: doesn't play for two weeks, comes in, stops breakaway, penalty shot, stops EVERYTHING. Picks deserve to be the permanent #2.
